I think someone may die...[Spoiler]
Interesting thought!
Would add some drama and a feeling of danger if they´d kill of someone of relevance (and part of Destiny´s Edge!) instead of a recently installed and (in the long run) rather unimportant character like Belinda.
Always nice to speculate a little bit about future plot developments… ;-)
Other thoughts about the topic?

Ben
Thought the same thing after that loving moment between her and Braham. “Now she’s doomed.”
I’m hoping that Eir is simply missing and that Brahams jumps on the assumption that she is dead. Probably because of eye witness accounts of her falling off the airship and that Garm is found without her. Brahams will probably team up with Marjorie as part of anti-Sylvari faction of the pact. But at the very end of the HoT story, Eir is found alive due to the protection of non-corrupted Sylvari, calming Brahams angst and teaching him a valuable lesson.
But if I’m being overly cynical, she’ll probably get the Woman in the Refrigerator treatment so Brahams can grow as a character.
Jory was originally suppose to die by the hands of Scarlet but people liked her too much (I like her as well, she’s an awesome character).

i hope not Eir is my favorite Character
she have done so much good even kill a LT dragon
but stile pll blame her sometimes i feel sad
I think it is highly likely that the story behind the dragon hunter specialisation is going to be something to do with Braham taking up Eir’s longbow. The question is does he take up the bow and vow to continue her dragon hunting legacy, or does she teach him the art of the longbow and trap making herself?
I do not think that they will kill Eir, and if they do I do not think Braham wil take her longbow, purely because Marjory took her sister’s greatsword and for the exact same thing to happen again would just not make sense to me. Personally I do not think any of the main characters will die in heart of thorns, but I would not have a problem with it if they can make it work with the storyline (except if Rytlock died, I would really not like that because he is awesome, but that is another story entirely).

NOOO, EIR!!! Don’t die a cliche! We need our epic covergirl norn hunter.

Eir dies, Rytlock can then channel her, problem solved
I hope not :< Eir is my fav.
Also she is the least likely to die of all of DE (beside Rytlock), not only is she a Norn but she an exceptional fighter. If Anet was to kill her… it would have to be epic (probably self-sacrificing).
Well, if you guys make a loud enough freak out before any possibility I’m sure if any plans of her demise were designed, they can always be thwarted if given enough volume. That’s how soap operas work, generally when someone gets written off the show or killed its not because they want the story to go that route but more of the fact that it is strictly production business factors that determine the fate of the characters.
If people rally in protection of a beloved character, that character will get protected.
Marjory is a prime example.

Is there actually any proof that Marjory was originally planned to die, because I haven’t seen it proven for certain anywhere and I have only seen other players saying it.
As for the rest of your post, I would say that makes sense because I do believe I would just stop enjoying the storyline of the game if certain characters died (Rytlock) and I know that others would feel the same way which is not what Anet would want their players to feel.

Yes… but this is not a soap opera; they are not making things up (at least not most of it) just for the sake of having a continued story. I’m sure they planned many things before they even began the living story. The sylavari being revealed minions are one example. Also I believe it would be a case by case basis if a favorite character will survive based on fan response. I mean take Breaking Bad for example: Jesse was originally going to die early in the series, but the director kept him because Aaron Paul was a great actor. In contrast, a lot of people liked Mike, and he was an outstanding actor too, but they still killed him off because it brought the plot along to a turning point.
Maybe Garm dies and gets turned into a Mordrem wolf and when Eir finds him, he tries to fight against Mordremoth’s control, but fails and she has no choice but to kill him. It is a possibility.
Marjory was supposed to die?
You mean I could have avoided having to see all that lovey dovey angsty woo stuff in LS season 2 all together?
Kitten it…
Forever known as “that slow guardian who can’t jump worth crap”.
I’m not clear on all the details, by I believe that audio files were data-mined where you heard the other members of DE 2.0 talking to Kasmeer and consoling her over Majory’s death…
Of course, those could have just been lines that the voice actors were told to do if the final outcome of the living story was still subject to change.
In truth, I doubt we’ll ever really know.
… The human race would never have to worry about be oppressed again.”
I think trolls should have their computers smashed. ’Its all part of the game. U mad bro?’
Another story line they could pursue is Rytlock, our first Revenant coming to the aid of the human queen as we retreat from the dragon’s onslaught.
Proving once and for all that Logan has always been useless

that will totally break my heart and Eir to if that happens
it reminds me off the movie am legend with will smith that his dog turn it to a zombie
that he need to kill his dog was for me a very sad moment
What if Eir comes out of the Jungle a druid, her main concern saving the jungle, and she gives her longbow to Brahm, asking him to help her fight the dragon minions.

We know dragonhunters are supposed to be EXTREMELY anti dragon minion. More so than anyone else at this point. To the point where it makes sense the first ones would be those that lost friends and family to the sylvari. Or that saw there loved ones become risen and attack them.
Eir dieing could possibly mark the begging of “dark bram” a “kill em all” fighter to aggressive to fit the normal “guardian” mold. He inherits instead the fighting style of his mother. Reshapes his magic to fit his new combat style. And changes his methods to ensure NOT the survival of his allies. But the death of his enemies.
The cross from Priest to Zealot anyone?
I doubt Braham will be anti-Sylvari. The norn have a very anti-racist/anti-prejudice culture. They let people be them as long as they’re not violent. The Sons of Svanir have killed tons of Norn but the Norn still let the peaceful Sons of Svanir live in Hoelbrak.
If she dies, who’s getting the staff to go druid?
I think Braham and Eir will switch weapons instead having one inherit the other’s.

agree with you Norn are very much to them self they don’t care much about other races
only there hunt and tales and ale :p
i think if you see it this way eir might die and bram take up eirs bow
bram is a guard and the new guard get a bow
stile it pains my heart when eir dies
Foreshadowing… is it really a thing with ANet? Do we have any examples of previous/good foreshadowing in GW2?
I could see Brahm eventually finding a wounded Eir who gives him her bow to use in assisting with her rescue. With Rytlock now a Revenant possibly Brahm will be influenced by Rytlock & Eir to become one as well. This could ultimately could help give him a level of maturity he has not yet gained and maybe curb some of his impulsiveness. He is a young man – actually he is still a Norn boy after all, and hopefully all these events will turn him into the man he has the potential to be and that his mother would like to see.
I suppose I expect at least an important/semi-important someone (or several someones) to die for the cause but really have no clue as to whom that would be. Figuring it out in advance would be like turning to the back page of the book to see the ending before I read the book. For me it is more the getting there even if the outcome is sad for some of the characters I like. I am hoping for a strong story that pulls us in even if we have to go, " NOOOOOOOO!!!" at some point.
Just kill Trahearne so we can all cheer.

The point where Braham (a guardian) could pick up Eir’s longbow and become super intent on Hunting dat Dragon is a super great one. Really fits with the whole norn hunting theme too.

Honestly I dont think Eir will die.
Eir dying would not only be too easy but too weak as a plot twist, I actually think its more subtle than that.
Rangers are getting staff, so I wonder if Eir will become a druid and pass on her longbow to her son.
Eir is the last of her guild that i would like to see dead. Actually i would not like to see her dead. Whereas Caithe, Rytlock, Zojja, Logan can go (in that order).
So, amongst the chaos, I’m not sure I’ve spotted any topic revolving about this “spoiler” that was sent with the email.
I talked about it on the game and with the guild, and also managed to see someone who posted it on reddit (thanks Ciborge for the picture), I’m amazed nearly nobody discussed the topic.
So it’s quite clear Braham is becoming a Dragon Hunter, but does that mean Eir die? Or will she become a Druid?
What do you think about it?

I think we’re going to see a “passing of the torch” from DE1 to DE2. There’s been a point made that DE2 is really just a bunch of nobodies, and it’s past time for that to change.
It may be mostly symbolic, but things like an injured Eir handing her bow off to Braham are important.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.

I don’t see any reason why ArenaNet could not kill off some of D.E.
It could be very plausible that Braham picks up his mother’s bow and decides to slaughter with it in her name.
Depends.
If Anet wants to force the maximum angst with ‘dramatic irony’ plotline, Eir will die in a heroic sacrifice to save either Braham or Zoja (Complete with something to the effect of ‘I couldn’t save Snaff but I could at least save you.’ as her last words) and Braham will inherit her bow and become a dragon hunter.
If Anet wants SOME angst but not maximum, He’ll find her bow in wreckage of the pact fleet, (possibly with her pet) but no signs of her. He makes use of it himself, while frantically trying to find signs of her survival and eventually Eir returns as a druid after wandering the jungle after whatever odd plot stuff happens to her.
Or the no angst route: He just happens to use an identical bow to hers. I mean, you can buy the thing off the TP. Gnashblade probably has a crate of the things just sitting around. For all we know, Eir’s got a stack of spares in her closet and Braham just borrows one.
Or she literally gives it to him as a gift and starts using a different weapon. Maybe druid staff, but possibly just a different bow or axes or whatever.

I quite like that as an alternative.
I don’t particularly want to see Eir die, or any of D.E. come to that. Oh. Logan. The jury’s out on Logan still.
Why would Eir return as a druid?
Other than that, I’d be all for Eir dying in the crash. They did at one point mention they had trouble making new voice work with the old cast. That’d at least “take care” of one member of DE.
As long as Garm is unharmed and will move in with Broham.
Why would Eir return as a druid?
Mechanically, if Braham is getting her bow she likely needs to replace it. Giving her the whole kitten elite specialization with/for her new weapon is just a way to show off NPCs with it. Same with “Why bother making Braham a dragonhunter at all” “Why give all these necros greatswords?” etc.
Lore wise, we don’t know yet. Stuff will happen in the jungle. Norn are already kind of pre-disposed to being able to pick up druid knowledge already being close to nature spirits. After spending some time in the jungle it’d be reasonable for her to pick it up somehow. For similar reasons to Rytlock learning revenant tricks from wandering the mists. All it might take is a change of location and a few ‘personal trials’

I really hope not. I like DE way more than the new group, and one of my least liked parts of the living story was that they felt abandoned by anet… You have awesome characters that you spent a ton of time developing! Use them!
I was really excited when they started showing up again in S2, but if that was only so they could “discontinue” them again…
If anyone deserves to die within the story it is Trahearne .____.
He is just too much of a cliche.
All we wanted was a GvG.

When I played Elder Scrolls Online there was an NPC trying to suicide from a tower. I had the choice to either save him or push him down…and he had the same speaker as Trahearne.
I enjoyed it so hard

He cant die. Traherne is like a virus, try to kill him and he’ll just mutate. He’s already replicated into an Asura (Gatt I believe he calls himself). He may be able to hide his appearance, but he cant hide his voice.

I like the original DE members with the exception of Logan; he can go die in a fire. I’ve hated him since Edge of Destiny came out, even before the game was released.

Aaaaah, sorry. I thought there was talk of the druids from Maguuma. The spirits from the old GW1 missions, and the one or two you can ecounter in GW2.
I hadn’t even considered the elite specialization. Sorry!
If that’s the case, then yes, I suppose that could work. I don’t see the female Charr from the new DE becoming a druid, anyhow. But I guess it’s a bit early to tell, what with us not even knowing what a druid is or how they work mechanically.
Well, we know at least some of the original druids are around. There’s an event to protect one; I can’t remember if it’s in Kessex or Brisbane.

Agreed. I’m so GD tired of the Guild Wars 2 B-team of the Living Story and their cardboard cut-out personalities.
