I was wondering if people have ever been interested in toons marrying and also people having home instances in the home worlds (Ex. Queensdale, Grove etc).

I think it may be a nice touch that can boost the game’s economy by providing people more things to accomplish. Houses can be bought, sold, upgraded etc. Married toons can merge. Buying a home in your own world instance (Sylvari in Grove) gets discounted. You can invite friends or guildies in your house. The super rich may even have their private mini game arenas. This thought was inspired by SAO anime.

Although, it may very well be that I’m the only one interested in this concept. Haha. And even if a lot of people are interested in it, I’m sure this is a lot of work for developers

Hey, a Sylvari can only dream ~

Here I was thinking you were going to bring up killing off players in real life if they died in the game.

This would be really cool but would have a lot of issue to implement. Like not enough room, how it would work with mega servers, and I’m sure something I didn’t think of. Awesome idea tho. I think someday mmo’s will be able to accomplish this but right now I don’t see it happening.

Well, the average skill level would certainly go up and it can’t be worse population than the exodus that’s happening to WvW.

Mini-guild halls ^ probably not-so-“mini”-decoration-prices?

Sure it’d be nice, but the Guild Hall works because it’s a shared project. I’m not sure how viable it’d be if all this “personal-home” does is grant you another project/gold-sink that seems a bit “indirect” as a means of showing off your wealth. (Because, I believe, showing off wealth is what a lot of players invest their wealth in.)

Your current home is your home-instance, with nodes and npc’s from your personal story all gathered there. I’d rather improve on these home-instances than getting a second home. Perhaps some more customization to these would work…
Just…
keep the Guild Hall decorating in the Guild Hall.

It’d definitely clean up PvP in a hurry. Queue times might suffer.

I’m not that interested in the marriage idea, but I would think it would be cool to have “home” areas in Guild Halls. A few areas/plots where you need a special permission to decorate. Have a home tab in the Guild Menu where a leader can gave ranks and individual people permission to decorate in certain areas/plots. People can make custom Officer Headquarters, Leaders can have personal bunkers, Guilds can give an area/plot away as a prize to a member for x amount of time.

I semi already did this in my Guild Hall since I am a part of a small guild I claimed an area of the map with Red Balloon saying this is my home. But it would be cool to have predesignated areas for that that you can upgrade. Plus larger Guilds might have more of an issue with people claiming random spots.
