What kind of a Character would you make, that should join you and Dragons Watch, if you were given the chance to design a completely new Character for the Guild to be introduced somewhere in the future with a LW Episode.

Am interested to see, what people can think of and what they would like to see being part of the Guild.

I’d love to see this Character Concept:

Race: Tengu
Gender: Female
Profession: Thief
Weapons used: Dual Daggers + Staff (Daredevil)
Name: Inori Blackfeather
Age: 25

Background:
Inori is a Tengu, which left the Dominion of Winds, because she felt herself like being a bird in a cage there. Inori is full of memories from the past from the histories her parents told herv about a land, far far far away from Tyria, called Cantha from which they all originally came from, before threy have settled down themself in the Dominion of Winds as refugees from the Canthan Emperor.
She is convinced to want to change this situation, so that she and her folk can return one day peacefully to her homelands and that isolation in regard of this is no solution.
So the leaves the Dominion to help in rotting out first the biggest issue right in front of her, which makes it unable to return to her homelands – the Elder Dragons.

Characteristics:

Inori is a very calm, strategetic and intelligent Character, basically the complete opposite of Braham. But as a Thief she can be also very cunning and cruel in battle at the same time, because with enemies she shows absolutely no mercy and is totally cold blooded as she would kill anybody and everything, as long she thinks its for the good of her convictions and her personal goal to make sure, that one day the Tengu can return to Cantha. Inori is very fast on feet and hands, but thats not very surprising for he as a Thief which had to quickly learn how to survive in Tyria once she had left the protecting zone of her former life that was before the Dominion of the Winds, where she got as she grew up basically everything she needed without doing anything for it. But life is hard and if you want to survive, you quickly will learn this, that only the strong will survive. Thats essentially the mentality of Inori – only the strong survive and the weak are lead by the strong ones, which is why to make her join Dragons Watch, the PC has to beat her first in an epic Solo Battle, so a duel to prove yourself as being strong enough, so that she is willing to accept your orders as her leader

Possible Point of Meeting:

I think a good Meeting Point with her in the Living Story could be after Primordus/Jormag being slain and you settle your destination for Kralkatorrik, where you meet up on her as some kind of mysterious “Dune Wanderer” in Amnoon Oasis, where she rests for a while and gets to see you for the first time as you arrive there.
People at Amnoon Oasis know not much about her, only that she seems to be in search of something and that shes the only person known at the Oasis, which is known to know a Path to get through the Dunes of Despair without losing your orientation in all the heat and the unendless sand and its sandstorms there, which are fiercer than anywhere else in Tyria, which is why this place is called still the Dunes of Despair.

I think thats a nice little basic concept that could b used to introduce such a Character into the team of Dragons Watch.

Now I’m interested, what kind of characters you can think of and would like to see s beign part of the Living World.
My idea is simply grounded on the fact, that GW2 has yet no single Tengu Character, that plays in the game and its story an important role somehow, and also Dragon’s Watch has yet no “Thief”.

With Braham, Marjory and Co we have so far only a Warrior, Necro, Mesmer, Guardian, Engineer, Revenant and Ranger, but yet not a Thief and an Elementalist, so i wanted with my Inori Blackfeather to hit two birds with one stone by making her an Tengu Thief If I had to introduce another Character, it would most likely be an Asuran Elementalist then hehe, cause I think Taimi needs to get some kind of very intelectual Partner at her side to make together the teams awesome think tank ^^

If it means testing the waters for including Tengu as playable, bring it on.

Though, can we make it a dude? Between whine-a-day Braham and petulant Rytlock, we don’t really have any competent guys to look up to. Maybe Canach, but he’s too tied up in his own snark to extend beyond that for right now. :\

As for the Thief role, we tentatively have Caithe. Granted, I’d be thrilled if she still turned out to be a traitor and our new Tengu buddy has to splat her. ^v^ Yay burbs!

Many alts; handle it!

An eccentric and burly male Norn whose sanity is questionable. He recognises his own limitations and does his best to support the commander in their endeavours. He’s seen a lot of things, some things which he would rather forget, but he knows that unpleasant (and eldritch) knowledge is a part of everyday life. A lot of people believe that his bravado is his own way of trying to cope with the unspeakable things he has learned throughout his travels.

One thing which I think is lacking in the story is a stoic male character of some sort. A proper adventurer and seasoned veteran. Canach and Rytlock are too busy brooding and Braham’s defining trait is his ability to whine. It would be nice to have someone who’s reliable, but isn’t trying to steal the spotlight from the protagonist.

Ya, Caithe is a Thief, but shes not part of Dragons Watch, shes an outsider with the potential of becoming even an traitor anytime when Anet might see fit for that, whenever there might come interests into her mind that cross with yours.

We all saw what happened the last time around the Dragon Egg, when that was the case – and suddenly she acted like shes a one man army doing her whole thing alone.
Who knows, what happens around her the next time, if theres again something, what she believes, she needs to handle alone in a different way, than how you would do it. Shes not a very reliable ally. Shes too egocentric to be reliable.

For the competent “guy” I thought for basically the Asura Elementalist, cause I’d make him male as with Taimi we already have a young very clever, but inexperienced female Asura in the troop. So I’d add this asura to her side, which is the competent male Character for Dragon’s Watch, which can act also at the same time as Mentor alongside Zojja for Taimi, due to her respecting that character and his intelligence very much and her liking him due to him seeing her talents, unlike Phutch, which disrespects her all the time and doesn’t see her talents

Race: Asura
Gender: Male
Weapons used: Scepter & Warhorn (Tempest)
Name: Shaxx
Age: 34 (Taimi is 17)

Characteristics & Meeting Point:

Shaxx is a very competent, intelligent and reliable character, that always stays to his words. Hes coming from the Colleague of Synergetics and has a strong talent in seeing the strenths and weaknesses of thouse around him very good and how bonds between people can synergize well. His skills in analyzing situations quickly and making good tactics, especially when being together with Taimi are absolutely top notch, which is why Shaxx quickly earns the trust of Dragons Watch and the title of “the Overwatcher” in the guild.

Shaxx is a good friend of Taimi’s parents and has been given the task of them to look after her, cause they haven’t heard and seen much of her for a long time and are worried about her, if she is even still alive, so they asked Shaxx to search for her and thats how we meet in in Rata Novus, where he saves with is strategies the day as he arives right in time to save Taimi from an Invasion of Dragon Minions and gets invited into Dragon Watch after the battle, as we saw in the battle in Rata Novus, that hes not only a very good strategist , but also a competent fighter in battles with his Elementalist Skills which protected meanwhile also the protagonist passively, without that we knew him before, which impresses us.

I would add someone like a Separatist or a Renegade to Dragon’s Watch. Perhaps someone with a very direct tie to someone we knew from Ascalon in Guild Wars 1. Alternately, it could be someone from a White Mantle faction.

The point would be to have a character who still recognizes the Elder Dragons as a threat that needs to be stopped, but who doesn’t just instantly forgive past atrocities or dismiss legitimate differences because of it. Right now it feels like the story goes “either you agree 100% with the main characters, or you’re a cackling villain”, and I’d like to see that be more morally ambiguous.

What we need/lack:

  • A strong male character (current contenders for that role are off on their own).
  • A warrior (Rytlock is a Rev, now).
  • An older character (Rytlock’s not that old).
  • A builder/craftsman.

What I’d like to see is an older male norn, one that’s lead a full life and done things. Raised a family, built a homestead, passed it on to his son. Someone that can forge a sword or axe, and build a table. Someone that can swing a hammer in the forge or to drive a nail, but also swing a mace or fire a rifle.

And most importantly, I’d like them to start taking on a role of “parental figure” to some of the guild as well. Let’s face it, the group is young. Not just Taimi, almost everyone in DW is young. The guild needs someone stable, someone they can talk to or lean on in times of trouble. Someone that can go with them to help them with their personal missions and issues when the Commander can’t. Maybe they won’t be going on every mission with us, but that just means that we’ll have someone making sure we’ve got a place to come back to.

That’s what I want for the group’s next member.

Sarcasm, delivered with a
delicate, brick-like subtlety.

A Tengu would be a nice additional for the group, as they could introduce the Tengu race finally.

I hope we’ll get newer and other main allies rather than these ones we currently have.
Kill them off, or make them go mad or something, we got stuck with them for over 3 seasons now.

I don’t care what kind of type or professions our new allies will be, only the new ones will replace these boring old ones, specially Taimi.

A male Asura for a change, perhaps? Similar to Snaff. Elementalist.
A female Norn Warrior.
A male Human Ranger..
Well, no matter what, I am looking forward for any new cast members to come.

I would make a firemen squad to rescue the poor Blaine from the bottom of his well.
I worry a lot about his mental health.

Why simplify things when its so easy to complicate them ?

That excitable charr who escorted Rytlock would be cool. Like he seems like a dork who is a bit of a “follows charr regulations” guy. Put him in some problem where he’s forced to join you and learns how to step out from protocol.
