I think Anet did an incredible job evoking deep emotions. I spent a couple of hours on one of my main chars, today, just wandering around L.A. I feel kind of….sad…I mean, really sad. Reading the note from the child who is missing parents… Ugh, it’s just a game! What is wrong with me?! I don’t think it’s just me feeling this way, either. I saw a lot of other people wandering around LA, and in the whole time, nobody typed a word. Two hours of complete and utter silence, and there were plenty of us on the map. LA, the center of social interaction is now completely silent. To speak would be like shouting at a funeral. I have never felt this way in a game.

I had this same type of mourning when I saw old Lion’s Arch, Sunken Droknah, Fort Ranik and many other of the GW1 places for the first time here.

When I saw LA this time the emotions ran high once again and I broke down when I saw that note from the child missing his/her parents.

Yeah me too, I mean I’ve found several spots for prime real estate to build my fancy new Charrhome, but those pesky spooks just won’t stay dissipated…. <sigh> One day those silly shades will be gone and I can finally be a proud owner of my rightful homeland.

Yeah, wasn’t enough that the humans stole it, but they had to trash it as well. That’s just spiteful if you ask me.
