I know, I know…everyone wants everything to be a reference to something they’ve seen/read/played before.
But as soon as I entered the Iota Vault (the one on the northern edge of the upper level) the cages made me think of the Dharma station in Lost where they kept the polar bears. Then I went further in and found polar bears, which just like in Lost seem extremely out of place on a volcanic island (suspected to be) in the tropics but were brought there for study by some crazy scientists setting up a series of secret bases.
It seems like a lot of similarities to be a coincidence. I was half expecting to find a leaver which dispenses fish biscuits.
I’m just wondering if anyone had the same thought or thinks it may be more than a coincidence.
Yes, I too thought Lost as soon as I saw the polar bear. ArenaNet do have a history of sneaking these references in, my favourite being the story instance where Tybalt sounds suspiciously like Walter White.
