Hey guys,

I just saw this topic on the REDDIT https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/52l8u3/hype_jw_and_cooking_to_500/ but the problem is i cannot find the confirmation on either GW2 official nor other places. It does sound interesting, and would like official confirmation if possible. Also people in comments suggest buying various mats, but it all sounds like another market manipulation to me.

Did you read the responses by any chance?

Of course i did, and the whole post is suspicios. But the people are buying mats anyway. And i want to believe rune swap and possible build template will be available in the future:)

I know they said they’re quoting “the source” but they never actually give a source at all.

I’ve seen exactly the same rumor at least twice before, one of which was before HoT came out. Both times it was credited to “an inside source” or “an Anet employee” and both times it was nonsense.

The grammar and sentence structure in that “quote” is terrible. I realise if it wasn’t an official announcement it may not have been proof read but in my experience that reads more like it was written by someone whose first language is not English, not an American in a rush.

In other words; it’s fake.

I have sometimes made good money by profiting off of someone else’s foolish attempt to control the market. If the price of Tiramisu suddenly spikes from 10 copper to 2 silver, I’ll sell all of mine and put in replacement buy orders for … 10 copper. Often, the price drops back down within a few days, allowing me to sell my cake and eat it, too.

A while back (August 10th) someone(s) placed large buy orders for gold and silver ore. I assume in hopes that ascended jewelry is coming with Lvl 500 and they will be needed and the price will skyrocket so even bids at the current value would still be very profitable and with a long enough lead time they could buy up 1/2 or 1 million of each without affecting the current sale price.

Of course it’s only a speculative bet it’s coming this time.

Of course this rumor may be a way to spike the price so those behind the 5 week ore buying spree can dump their inventory.

I don’t think we’ll ever get ascended jewelry crafting. It would make all the vendors that sell ascended jewelry completely redundant.

Or more likely the vendors would make crafting redundant. If ascended jewellery crafting was in line with the cost and time for other forms of ascended crafting then it’d be much cheaper and quicker to buy it from vendors.

Ah yes, cooking 500, it will get here about the same time a jewel crafting 500.
