Title ^

I tried to complete this achievement as a full zerk medi guard earlier and only got about 2 waves into the second trial before running out of time.

Is this achievement poorly tuned due to mob health/ capture point time requirements?

or is it supposed to be a group only achievement?

Are there any steps that should be taken to help it along? I lost about 5 mins on the first trial and then another 30 seconds for transitions

Farthest I got on my ele and warrior was the 3rd event, but even using stealth consumables I ran out of time.

Edit: Failed by 15 seconds. Completely doable.

The Throne isn’t that bad. If you lure every enemy out of the capture circle, the bar will start building up on its own. You can let Turai slowly pick away the last one or two to draw out the time between spawns — it’s possible to get this event done with no more than two waves, with very little downtime.

The 2nd event demands very fast killing speed however, since you can’t even just cherry-pick the Tainted Souls until the final wave spawns.

I imagine it’s possible to do solo, but it feels like the skill/gear-threshold on that may be rather higher than previous timed achievements have aimed at.

It’s very hard to do solo… I needed like 50 seconds more in order to complete it but I really couldn’t do any better…

You’ll save a lot of time with a group… Mine filled in ~ 15 seconds.

I was running the last crystal back on my fifth try when time ran out so then just made a group to finish it, I know it would be possible but really why bother when there is no way that achievement was designed to be done solo. The only way to even come close solo is to make Turai fight one of the mobs outside the circle in the first event to avoid spawning more, if you can get out of there with about 5:30 remaining you have a chance.

It’s soloable but quite the challange. I’ve tried 2 times yesterday on Celestial + Zerk mix mesmer.

On the first run I made a 11 min time, on the second run I was at 9 minutes and I saw a lot of places where I screwed up at the last trial.

Had no time to do a 3rd run cause needed my beauty nap, but will definately do it today when I get back from work.

Tips:
- Zerk
- Use food and sharpenstone
- Most offensive build you can get
- Speedbuff ghost dude

And 3 words:
Ash legion spy kit

The first phase is the most vital one in my opinion. Make sure enemies do not enter the cap point. A nifty trick is to let the NPC finish the last one per wave off outside of the cappoint because the waves don’t seem to respawn until every last one is dead. You can also use consumeables to distract the enemies and kill them asap if you prefer a more aggressive way (e.g. Mortars, Seed Turrets.) Just don’t let them on the point to save time.

The Second Phase isn’t too special, bring a lot of AoE (Reflects can help) and dps things down quickly. Keep the Ghost buffed with Swiftness as much as possible.

The Last Phase just stealth / invul cap the Crystals and run them back asap. Be it through skills, traits or utilities. Killing will (most likely) cost too much time when you’re alone. Spykits / Feathers / Invul skills (or being a Thief) will be your best friend.

As always, zerk is the way to go. ^^"

I wouldn’t recommend solo’ing it unless you prefer getting all achievements solo because teaming up will get it done so much quicker it’s ridicilous.

This achievement was easily soloable as an elementalist. This thread had me worried so I went and rushed it. No food, unoptimized gear (old pirate MF runes, nullification sigil) and mostly berserker with some celestial accessories and a healing staff. Simply put, I’m not optimized. My build isn’t either, which I’m running the standard fire staff build, expect I run with cleansing waters instead of going 100% offense.

The first trial was simple from the start. I immediately had the point under control with all enemies out of the ring. I didn’t even bother attacking the other guy. Another wave spawned maybe 30s in, which I killed most of them and left some melee ones alive as I simply ran around the room. It took around 2 minutes total, with the ring being red for maybe a total of 10s.

The second trial I simply AoE’d everything to the back of the room.

For the third trial, I debated on swapping to invulnerabilities to grab and run, but didn’t bother. I simply killed everything and took the crystal. On the last crystal, I had ~1 minute left and thought I was running out of time, so I swapped to dagger/focus for the invulnerability, but it turns it was ~1s to short, so I simply killed everything again.

I used the birthday blaster to keep track of the time, so technically, I was using food.

Yes, if you are lucky regarding aggro and positioning of the Ghostly Hero and the mobs, you can sit the first phase out with the circle mostly being blue and have enough time left for the rest. As I said, a large part of this is luck. If the first phase takes a few seconds too long because of the NPC standing in the circle and mobs having aggro on him, I would call the rest of the instance everything but easy. But it is soloable. You might need some tries though to get a scenario in the first phase that’s in your favor.

I can just recommend to bring as many push/knockback/pull skills with you as possible to get mobs out of the circle. Try to keep at least one mob alive to prevent further spawns, but make sure to kill the big one (Enemy Ghostly Hero) before the first challange ends, because he will stay alive after that and keep attacking your NPC and therefore slowing down your progress after that.

As others already posted, Ash Legion Spy Kits can be helpful (mind the CD though!) but are not really needed.

The achievement is completely soloable. I did it as a meditation Guardian with the bloodstone debuff food going as well. The key is to just blow everything up in 5 seconds.

It’s not zerk or ascended only but you do need as much offense as possible. An exotic sinister necromancer can do it, but you still need at least two (order of whisper) spy kits and 2 Ash legion spy kits. As a point of reference I took 3,5~4 min to do the first part.

If you can pull out a huge amount of dps its doable. I barely made it within like 10 seconds of the time solo on Ele with zerk/soldier ascended. I didn’t do this with the bloodstone on because that heal debuff gets rough with some of the mobs. I was running some food buffs with might on crit and stuff.

Getting the first trial done quickly enough is the biggest thing, as you know. Like others have said if you can get the hero to aggro one and “solo” it by himself you can practically make the event have less waves. First time I tried this the hero just bugged out and attacked nothing and stared at the wall the whole time.

That said a group does make it a ton easier. Helped some friends with it earlier and it was a cakewalk timewise. Plenty of people around that wouldn’t mind a group in LFG.

Could always get the Ogre Pet Whistle/Fire Elemental powder spawning items from karma vendors too. Can’t tell you how much those extra buddies help in some of these story achieves on solo. Cooldown is long, but if you just need some dps assistance in the first bit then its good.

Good luck.
