Jormag Further North
Both of the new maps — Bitterfrost Frontier and Ember Bay — are in areas we did not enter during GW1. We may not even get to see the old above-ground areas, such as Abaddon’s Mouth, much less the underground areas like Battledepths and the Central Transfer Chamber.
I’m pinning my hopes more on new areas, such as the hint that Caudecus might be heading for the Isles of Janthir. (Though I still can’t figure out how Rox ran into Canach to get this info when she’s been in Hoelbrak or north of there the whole time, which seems like an absurdly indirect route for someone tracking Caudecus to take.)
I agree with this topic – I would like to see Drakkar rise out of Drakkar Lake together with other EOTN locations which are quite a bit north of Bitterfrost Frontier.
Unfortunately, it makes sense that Jormag would move south, especially if he has detected/absorbed some “Mordy juice” !
Who’s to say where we will go. Heck, what if an expansion makes 5 maps in the N-shivs, and you think you head to the dragon. But then he takes wing and turns Hoelbrak into a raid instance.
I heard he is near BfF too, but I don’t know exactly what makes people say that, can anyone tell me exactly where this has been said?
As for the thread, I agree, I was looking forward to seeing maps go to the very top of the current world map where we would fight Jormag, but it doesn’t look like we are getting that. I agree that mechanics such as in the bitter cold would be fantastic in maps in the very far north of the world, getting increasingly more extreme the closer to Jormag we get.
However, I am quite optimistic about this since it looks like we’re getting primordus as well and also a possibility of a fight between the 2 dragons in an area that could be anywhere. Maybe having fewer shiver peak maps is not so bad if we are going to multiple regions at the same time.

When you start the episode by speaking to the elders in the Great Lodge, Elder Ulf tells you about the region to the north and the belief that Jormag has moved to be near it, corrupting any who travel there.
I am slightly worried we may not get to see much Northern areas, since i heard Jormag is quite close to Bitterfrost Frontier. (?)
Jormag won’t be the final boss to dispose of. I think Primordus will be.
I had hoped Jormag would’ve been far North so we could experience lots of new snowy maps, with each one getting increasingly colder and more mountainous. [thick blizzards etc]
I hate to break it to you, but your description matches Bitterfrost Frontier.
I do hope, however, that there will be at least another Shiverpeaks map.
I think it would be a huge shame to not visit old GW1 locations and the Eye of the North itself at some point too.
Yes, would love to revisit the area around the Eye of the North! <3
Primordious and Jormag should of been the first dragons we faced. Considering their rolls in guild wars 2, primordious was up first at the end of Eye of the North and jormag effectively is the reason the norn moved down the mountain.
I want to go here https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Bottomless_pit and jump down. Eotn has so many interesting places. Rabbit hole, Draggar lake, Snowmen cave, bottomless pit etc.
