Seriously… Has ANYONE seen this mob spawn in the past week? I managed to get all the others in two nights of playing without any effort, but I’ve now been camping this one for over a week and, while I’ve seen all the others spawn multiple times each, I haven’t seen him once.
I only need this one to complete my achievements but i have given up on it, I have been round red rock solid since the patch and have never seen it once.
I hang out around red for a good chunk of time, and i’ve been in SW pretty much non stop for the last 2 weeks but I have not even once heard this legendary called out. (seen the other 3 called out 4-5 times each)
He’s still not spawning for me. I’ve been camped at Red Rock for a whole week now, waiting for him to show up. NOT ONCE. =:( This is blocking 2 of my achievements. I just filed a bug report. Can everyone else please do this too so we can get devs to look at it?
Can someone from Anet please respond to this because i have farmed every piece of carpace gloves and boots and haven’t seen the Annihilator spawn once.
I’d just like someone from Anet to check that is it not bugged and is spawning as intended.

They have had several threads about this since the patch went live and chose to ignore them.
But then they want us to grind like mindless idiots until they can be kitten d with the new patch on 13th January, It’s a kittenty way to go about it.

I’m sympathetic to the frustration of the boss not spawning, and I don’t know what Anet’s holiday hours are like, but they obviously don’t want you “grinding like mindless idiots” if there’s a problem. It’s silly statements like that which make it hard to take problems seriously.

Edit: To be be clear, I’m more opposed to the rhetoric involved and the glossing over of the point raised by Andred, that it’s the holiday season and the relevant people might be occupied. It sounds like something is wrong with the Annihilator, but it doesn’t help to suggest the devs see this problem and actively want players to have a bad time. That’s nonsense.
I don’t believe the Annihilator spawns with the current player populations (even with the population upsurge near breach time). I’ve been camping red rock for 10 days now. Over that time I’ve completed the 4 collections associated with the area, all other achievements available and all the living story steps. I’ve bought everything extra I’m interested in from the bandit crest vendor. And still this boss does not come.
I’ve tried camping red rock from the beginning to the end, I’ve tried instance hopping near breach time, nothing works.
Over this time I have seen between 5-10 occurrences of the other legendaries that spawn at the other 3 forts.
The Annihilator will not spawn under current game conditions or has a disproportionate spawn rate against the other legendaries.
FWIW I have not been after the legendary at red rock but I spent a similar amount of effort looking for the one at blue. It eventually spawned during a chest farm, of all things, when the entire zerg that had taken the map over hit Blue Oasis for shovels.
While I cannot absolutely confirm that it is bugged, it really does seem that way. Back in EotP, it was by far the most common lege for me even spawning 3 times in 1 zone-wide meta. Although I have been mostly ‘breach-hopping’ since then, I have done somewhere in the region of 200 breaches (usually entering the map at 60-80%)in that time and have not seen the annihilator once since Echoes of the Past. I have seen every other lege a lot in that time, with the executioner spawning considerably less that tormentor and demolisher, however some sort of differences in spawn rates is to be expected but for one to not spawn a single time is so unlikely it seems that it has to be bugged.
Well, I’ve also noticed people not fulling upgrading the forts and doing all the events(including the escorts). A fully upgraded fort will increase the chances of the Legendary spawning. The Annihalator has spawned since EotP, and it’s usually when the fort has been fully upgraded and completely defended without the Mordrem ever knocking the walls down and bringing up that event…I think they might be tied together somehow.
Yeah, the oil pots do a CRAZY amount of damage. It’s a shame that we can’t repair the gates, because trapping the Mordrem outside and pouring oil on them wrecks them something fierce.
I’ve finally fought the Annihilator! After at least a month of camping Red everyday.
I was at Amber just in time for the breach when someone called it on map. By the time I got there he was already down to 10% HP.
I think that If you want him, It’s probably the best time to camp red. With all the people playing there right now for the new boss, he might appear more often.
