Living Season 2 Sale
There aren’t any answers today, Zyrxz; they just finished bringing up the data server, getting people back online, and a huge patch needed for this weekend’s demo. Give them some time.
Based on previous examples, my guess is that either they’ll extend the sale or otherwise give people a chance to get the discount some other way. But… I don’t really know; I’m just guessing.
You can always contact the CS Team now, and explain your circumstance. Although it may take some time for them to respond, at least they will know you wanted to purchase during the sale. So, even if there is no global ‘fix’, they would most likely accommodate you.

Especially since it was not OP’s fault that he couldn’t log in yesterday. People already complained because they couldn’t do the dailies, or get the login reward. I would complain too if I got gift cards to purchase Season 2 and then the lack of a disaster recovery plan for a data center on ArenaNet’s side would keep me from doing it.
I’m also facing this issue, I planned on buying PoF ultimate edition and get the LW2 and because I could not find anything on the site about it being a sale. I assumed that the new price is fixed due to the incoming inclusion of LW3 into the shop and the release of PoF. I decided to wait until the preview weekend until I buy PoF. They should implement a timer on sales as it will increase sales since the players will be more conscious of the discount ending or at least add an ending soon tag.
