So, I haven’t had an opportunity to do the new dungeon yet. I just haven’t had time; I’ve had things going on in real life and doing other things in game that have precluded me from doing it.

Personally I like the idea of new Living Story content every two weeks, but I think we need more than two weeks to complete the content; look at the Dragon Bash achievements: we’ve had 4 weeks to do those, and only 2 for Sky Pirates.

I’m fine with temporary content… I actually like the idea of a world that changes… but it needs to stay in game longer than 2 weeks just to give people extra time to do it. IMO, Dragon Bash should be phased out on the 9th with Sky Pirates remaining in for another 2 weeks.

Thoughts?

I agree. I think 4 weeks for each part of the living story would be alright. Just because there will be one new chapter every 2 weeks, it doesn’t mean that each of them MUST last for 2 weeks only. Right now, Mai Trin is both inside the dungeon and locked inside her cell, and I see no problem with that at all.
The chapters should overlap +1

The new content needs to be permanent. Sure remove some of the random events around the world afterwards, and the lions arch decorations, but the dungeons and new zones need to stay.

I took a break from this game because of school and work, i came back a few days ago to see that I have missed a kitten load of content that I will never get to experience.

Frankly its not good design. I thought that the AQ event in WoW was bad for players who missed out on it, but this is a whole new level of bad.

By the logic of this living story, all of the dungeons in the game should be closed now since we have killed off zhaitan and every other major bad guy.

The dungeons are “locked in time” so lore-wise they have long since happened.
The majority of the living story does however take place in the open world, which would make it more or less impossible to use the same kind of logic behind it.

Logic doesn’t enter into this at all.

The start and end dates are decided by ArenaNet for real world reasons (i.e. they coincide with patch days that are on Tuesdays) not to fit into any in game logic there is NO logical reason they have to start or end at any particular time.

There is no logical reason why these cannot be left for a month or two so too because there is absolutely no logical reason why the world cannot have more than one story going on at any given time.

For example, Kiel is standing by in Lions Arch at the same time she is in dozens of Aetherblade Retreat Instances. There’s no logic needed there it just the way the game works.

If you wanted to you could even replace Kiel with a generic Lionsguard Captain if her being in two places would shatter peoples worlds.
