I was just in Fields of Ruin today and talking to the gossiping miners around Blackwing Excavation and it appears as though these characters are completely oblivious with what’s been happening in Tyria. For instance, one thinks the ore he’s digging is to contribute to the sink-hole in Divinity’s Reach, which has been ‘fixed,’ and another thinks that Lion’s Arch is still a bustling city with everyday citizens (although, conveniently he seems to be building and says there’s work available for him, though this hasn’t changed since before LA’s destruction.)
Obviously Anet can’t cover all the content they’ve put into the game and all dialogue to see what has to be changed to make the world persistent with the current happenings of living story, as sometimes there is conflicting lore as well when new content is added when compared to lore from GW1. They’ve done brilliantly with changing some small dialogue text as it is though.
Has anyone else encountered similar instances of this? What are your opinions on Anet not being able to integrate the living story into the persistent world they’ve created completely? Do you think there should be a feature where players can inform devs where inconsistencies exist? It doesn’t seem like it would be too difficult to change text dialogue, but I’m not sure.
