So, quoting this line from the release page:

“Log in today to unlock free, permanent access to the Gates of Maguuma story!”

So is this saying that this Living Story, like, this update, won’t be free and/ or available forever? Very confused..

You could optionally read the whole thing (which would take less time than creating another thread on this matter) and discover the answer on your own.

If you log on when it is released you will get it for free. If you are late to the party you have to pay 200 gems.

If you logged in today the content will be available for you to play forever.

The ‘story’ is the part in the Journal. You can unlock it free by logging into the game any time during the release window. After that, you can unlock it for 200 gems.

The Open World content is permanent with no restrictions.

Both are permanent. You have two weeks to just log into the game and press a button to “unlock” an episode of the story. If you don’t then you can buy it for 200 gems. Once unlocked you can (re)play it anytime anywhere forever through the new journal.
