Mordrem Menders

They would have to be baby gargoyles xD. I do agree the animations are similar with the whole arms in the air waving around thing. They use the baby Charr models for them i think (which might actually just be shrunken down Charr models anyway).
See i just thought it was a version of the plant troll model.
they actually looked a bit like mini charr to me, dunno why
they remind me of http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Grentch i miss them

I miss them too. Christmas is GW2 is just not as fun as it was in GW.

I really want the “Holiday Blues” skill back.
Anyone else think that the Mordrem Menders look like corrupted gargoyles?
I doubt they are, since gargoyles are supposed to be extinct, but their animations really remind me of gargoyles from GW1.
I totally agree! Especially the animations are exactly the ones from the gargoyles/mergoyles from GW1!
Could simply be content recycling though…

Well gargoyles did mysteriously disappear, so for all we know you might just have figured out what happened to them :P
I find it interesting they’re called “mender” just like sylvari also have their menders.
Judging by their height I thought they were corrupted Skritt, especially since they have a base in Dry Top and have tunnels in the Silver Wastes. They don’t share any other physical features with them though.
In terms of shape Gargoyles would be more fitting, but they never lived in the Maguuma Jungle, atleast not in GW1. A migration from Kryta to the jungle due to the rising of Orr, is not a possibily since that happened in 1219, while the Mergoyles (along with the Gargoyles) had already disappeared in 1185.
The Menders also share physical traits with trolls, so they could be a small variety of them, with their healing power being an enhancement of the trolls natural regeneration ability.
Edit: The Mordrem Trolls summoned by the Iron Troll in Silverwaste also seem to share the Menders ability to heal despite having the Troll model.
