More transparency about dates from devs
Always assume that the things added with an update will be removed with the next update (as in two weeks later) unless you hear a more concrete date.

I agree. The pattern for content changes has varied a lot (eg Origins of Madness was extended). So much map chat asking whether events and heirlooms etc will be continuing tomorrow – it would be fab to have this communication in the patch notes just saying when achievements will disappear.
However, we have asked for it on at least a dozen threads, incl a CDI w/o a response. Here’s for try 13
Oh I know it’s being asked a lot. This was actually a thread I’ve been thinking of making for a few weeks though. It’s really a recurring problem with each patch, information about when things end is constantly missing.
Looking for heirlooms earlier just reminded me about it.
It would be nice to know. I held on to a bunch of those cyphers from the Marionette event for weeks after it was over, then eventually threw them out because they were taking up bank space, only to see a post from a dev a day later saying they would bring the chests back?
Is it worth my time to keep gathering heirlooms for an alt, or would I be wasting my time? At this point I don’t know, so I’m just not going to bother with it, which is too bad because a little information could solve that problem easily.
Raingarde – Level 80 Necromancer
This is the sort of thing that would go perfectly as information that pops up in the launcher every time you start up the game. It really doesn’t make any sense to not make it easily available to players.
I whole-heartedly agree. I find it absolutely MIND-BOGGLING that after all these months of players asking for clear end dates on every Living Story patch, we still don;t get any kind of information ahead of time. It certainly isn’t because the pattern never fluctuates, because if that was the case, Escape from LA would still be going on.
Surely the LS team and other folks at Anet know whether the first patch of the cycle is staying in or coming out well in advance of it dropping. That is not a decision being made at the last minute. So what is so kitten hard about just TELLING US that? This sort of thing should be included in the patch notes for every single patch that includes temporary content. If that isn’t possible for some reason, isn’t that what the community relations team is for? I mean, even if it’s a post on this forum or something, at least the information can be circulated amongst the players then. The silence is just bizarre. And (I hate to say this because it usually sounds overwrought) it’s just disrespectful to the players. I don’t get it. I could understand if it gets screwed up the first couple times, but this has been going on for months now.
Just to show the trend continue, we once again have a nice release page that outlines what the patch contains as well as a patch note page with detailed information, but the only date we get is “Starts march 4th” and “blade shards will permanently drop from aetherblades now”. Furthermore, last patche’s meta achievement was removed with no warning.
Why?
I want to know how long LA’s event will stay in this state, I want to know for how long I’ll be able to do the end-instance vs Scarlet, I want to know when heirlooms will be removed from the city rubble, I want to know if the related vendors will stick around or when they’ll be removed, I want to know when the meta-achievement will be removed, I want to know when the new BLC skins will have their ticket price increased.
Why?
Why is none of this information being shown to us.
It’s bad enough that they structure so much of their content in such a way that it’ll be removed in the first place, but on top of that we don’t even get to know when it’s being removed? Ridiculous.

Good luck. Too logical. Will never happen.
