After a lot of cost and effort I have just created the Mysterious Vine which is account bound. If I upgrade it with a jewel does it become soulbound?

According to the wiki it’s accound bound. Adding upgrades doesn’t alter the binding – only using or not does, if such is denoted which the mysterious vine is not.

Also, I’d like to note that you can get an even better backpack still.

Yes but you seem to need 250 Quartz Crystals and so far I’ve only got 7! They’re 4 silvers each on the TP which makes it all very expensive.

You can go mine quartz in Dry Top to get more. There’s a rich quartz node there that opens when you fight the Skritt Queen.

You can also get a quartz mode for your home instance or make friends with someone who has one and mine theirs.
