Since I posted on how to get it and about it’s unique trait’s already I guess it’s time to make complaints about it now.

This cat is de facto the hardest to obtain currently. And I’m not just talking about the fact a lot of people have a problem with even reaching it, I’m talking about the fact it’s the ONLY non-permanent cat.
Yes SAB is only seasonal content (at least atm) so after april 20th there will be no way to obtain it. All other cats can be obtained all year round (as long as you have HoT of course) including the Feline Familiar, while you can’t buy the witch outfit atm you can always ask someone who already has it to spawn one for you.

We have cats that are profession locked and time gated to obtain, but never has there been one that is present for a limited time.
So I find that very unfair toward others who like collecting the cats too. In fact last year when SAB did re-emerge at last I did not play GW2 back then. Thus I would be angry if I missed it myself.

It’s a bit of (ahem) fluff, so I don’t think it’s critical to the game or the community that every cat be easily obtained at any given time.

Presumably, this cat will be available every year, so it’s just slightly more difficult to obtain than the Halloween cat, costs fewer gems than the bloodstone cat (for those who haven’t logged on during this chapter of LS3).

Strictly speaking, that’s not true given Super Adventure Box always returns around April. Yes, it’s limited time, but most events and their rewards are.

Besides, as Ill said, it’s fluff . . . much like some minis and seasonal crap you can only get from Black Lion Chest and which cannot be sold on the Trading Post.

I’m more unhappy about that than some home instance fluff that requires time and patience as opposed to RNG.

But maybe that’s just me.

If we knew for a fact that this cat would be available every time SAB came back then I wouldn’t worry about it because people who missed it this year would know they could get it next year, and when it would be available. It’d be frustrating to wait an entire year to complete the set but at least it’d be possible.

What concerns me is that we have very little information on the cats or any of the other bits and pieces that have been added alongside LS3 but aren’t exactly part of it, like the ley anomalies and the rifts. We don’t know if it’s going to be permanent or not. For all we know it could be like Season 1 – it’s building to a climax and then once that’s happened (e.g. we get some reward for having all the cats) it’s finished and no longer available.

It would be really nice to know, one way or the other, whether this is a permanent addition to the game.

So far, since Season 1, they haven’t removed any of the current events or really anything that leads to special rewards or titles. That seems to me as permanent as anything ever is in an MMO.
