I remember dry top and whatnot being accessible for all your toons after you completed some of the LS. Meaning you didnt have to do the same LS over and over again. Is this true of the new LS?

Yes and no. Each map has a cheap portal scroll that you can purchase that allows level 80 characters to access the map. This of course requires you to progress the story in order to obtain access first. Teleport to Friend stones also work regardless of level.

I also forgot to mention that you must own HoT in order to access the new maps.

Bitterfrost doesn’t require anything special to get in after one toon completes the first part of the story. Just go to the portal to the zone from Bitterfost to grab a torch from the bear.

The other two zones don’t have direct portals, so I don’t think there’s a way around doing the first story. (Be nice if I’m wrong about that, though.)

Rejoice in wrongness, Was Na!

Ember Bay and Bloodstone Fen can both be accessed via the portal scroll on alts that have not done the story /pats her seaweed farm fondly. Only one alt needs to do the story to get there first.

My shared slots have so darn many portal scrolls in them ><

I’m talking about without portal scrolls. :/

Bitterfrost doesn’t require one, not even for the first time, so there’s no cost in resources or time (well, walking from a frostgorge waypoint, but that’s less than the loading time).

Its nice that you can get into Bitterfrost after the first character opens it up, but I really like the scrolls. Once you have them, its essentially a free WP to the map. (Yes, I’m cheap)

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

Free? I guess 1000 unbound isn’t all that much, but since I dislike farming, I’d rather have the currency.

Was Na, I was going with the OP’s question about being able to get alts into the map without having to do the story on each one. All the maps have the scrolls which are a way around doing the story first.

There is also teleport to a friend, I think that would work to get your alts into the map without doing the story at all, so long as you have a friend willing to go stand still in a safe place for a minute or so. I don’t know for sure, though, since I tend to leap into new story on the first day to get ahead of spoilers.
