I doubt that honestly. With the attention to detail that they’ve been putting into the game with the current releases (that I’ve read about, unfortunately I’m in a situation where I’m unable to play), it seems that they have big things planned.

Lets take a look at what the current events have been, according to https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Living_World_Season_3

current events 1:

there’s the leyline anomalies that players start seeing and can attack

there’s the shining blade bandit bounties thing.

Well, this is the beginning, not much to really connect it to BUT future content. The bandits however were connected to the raid that happened previously.

current events 2:

there’s the bloodstone crazed creatures

there’s the sad anomolies

and there’s the charr tracking something using beacons (we know WHAT it is but i’m not sure I want to spoil it so i’m remaining as vague as possible)

current events 3:

we get somewhat of a conclusion to the leyline magic storyline with the introduction of the shadowstone. you rebuild the shadowstone with bloodstone slivers and have a choice: go priory and use it on yourself, or hand it over to consortium to get krait oil.

here’s the current events with the unstable rifts. you help build a device that can handle the rifts.

Here’s the kicker, the two are actually tied together by one of the choices that players get to make. If you choose the priory and use the shadowstone on yourself, there’s a small chance that when you go through a rift, you will separate from your body and become an anomaly that can be attacked by players in PvE.

That’s AMAZING in my opinion.

current events 4:

we get to deal with propoganda. Not exciting, but we’ve seemingly dealt with the leyline stuff now.

curren events 5:

Following the final battle with modremoth, you get to follow up on a specific storyline involving a special item you pick up. You also get word about the Pale Tree at the end.

Who knows, the item and the leyline stuff might be connected. We also don’t know where future current events OR living world stories will go, but with everything they’ve been doing, I doubt that they forgot about the rifts.
