Seriously doubt we’ll get a new race. The only one I can think of that’d be worth playing (in terms of lore and skill flexibility) would be tengu, and I don’t recall them being prominent in Maguuma. They originated in Cantha, so I wouldn’t expect that kind of expansion until Cantha is reintroduced into the game.

Personally, I’d hate to see most of the other tertiary races as playable — quaggan, skritt, etc. Too specialized and limited lore-wise, IMO.

All the tengu in Cantha left and are now in the Dominion of Winds in Tyria. I agree that it’s not going to happen for this release, but it’s a very real possibility that it could happen sometime.

I won’t hold my breathe for Cantha. Possible Elonia????. As for any new races highly doubtful. We can only hope.

No new race has ever been promised. In fact, the devs have hinted that it may never happen. You have five races already, why do you need a new race?

The game will continue on.
People will very likely still be playing it.
Some form of story stuff will very likely be happening.

Stuff /WILL/ be happening!

I really want to say, i can almost guarantee a new race (cough Tengu). It’s just too popular a request to be ignored. However, when that might happen, that’s another story. I highly doubt this LS.

The Flying Dolyak Race is also still active.

ANet stated they have no intentions to release a new race anytime soon, unfortunately q: I’ll see if I can find that link.

I have a feeling we’ll get to see the Tengu at some point but probably not during the Mordremoth storyline. Scarlet’s army sent them running back behind their gates like a bunch of scared kittens. There will need to be a common interest between them and the other 5 races before them being playable is even a possibility. As it stands they are probably very angry at Sylvari, Asura and Charr thanks to Scarlet.
