Has dear old Rytlock maybe seen the gods and thus gone blind?

Tough to tell if that’s Rytlock or a generic Charr. Given the strap around his (definitely a male charr) neck, I think it’s just a charr character.

Maybe he ran into Rurik (in the mists) who then kicked his butt for abusing Sohothin so badly. His punishment is blindness until he can ‘see the errors’ in his ways.

Normally, I would say yes; however, Rurik has the advantage of already being dead… not like Rytlock could really hurt him, he’d just keep coming back till he achieved his goal. With bonus of being super annoying at the same time (sound familiar?)

I dunno, Rurik was pretty annoying when he was your ally. My favorite part of Prophecies was killing him myself at the end.

So Rytlock won’t be heavy armor any more? Or weight restrictions are lifting from head pieces? /grins

I do hope that’s him, though, I feel like story pacing calls out for revisiting his situation. And the Pale Tree — it did strike me that there’s little if any discussion of Her plight in the current chapter. I’d think it would be a major topic of concern for everyone due to the possible socio-economic-political implications.

After Belinda’s spirit enchanted the Katana sword, if Rytlock ever comes with new abilities out of this, then we know which kind of profession is coming out. :P Both Belinda and Rytlock are warriors, one’s a ghost and the other disappeared after fighting ghosts. Also, Katana is a japanese weapon, Ritualists are usually blind-folded, Ritualist is from Cantha, and we’re getting Cantha-ish content from the Zephyr Bazaar.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way! There’s no reason Paragons couldn’t make a comeback, perhaps with a focus on anthems and songs — ooh! Advanced arcane application of acoustics, using their shields as amplifiers! It could work! Ahem. GW2 paragons might not be as versatile as the Guild Wars version — but then, what other profession is? See, especially, GW2 mesmers and rangers.

With them could come dry land spears, which other professions could use as well, of course, but the paragon would (surely) have the coolest dry land spear skills of all and wouldn’t be overshadowed at all by warriors.

Anyway I am SO ready for something new — even if it’s something old!

GW2 paragons might not be as versatile as the Guild Wars version — but then, what other profession is? See, especially, GW2 mesmers and rangers.

With them could come dry land spears, which other professions could use as well, of course, but the paragon would (surely) have the coolest dry land spear skills of all and wouldn’t be overshadowed at all by warriors.

Other than Assassins, Factions and Nightfall professions were VERY cultural and have been partially absorbed by other professions.

I believe Rytlock met the gods just like Kormir did. They took his eyesight and became a “prophet”.

waitwaitwait………..you want a bard? regardless, paragons can’t make a comeback, as 1) think elona has some sort of crazy necromancer lording over them now keeping everyone from leaving? might be wrong, 2) paragon is part of guardian now, monk and paragon teachings became guardian, a guardian is a paragon in essence, and 3) it’ll still be overshadowed by warriors because zerk warrior is always the meta sadly

I love his new outfit, something about it makes me completely giddy. PLEASE come back with new moves Rytlock, I want to see you more kitten than before.

He lookes more kitten than he already did. His body armor looks like warrior armor, his Head like Ritualist.

Considering his blindfold has a symbol, I think it’s more that he got training from wherever his sword sent him. He may have the power to deal with the threat of Mordremoth now. Hopefully his personality hasn’t changed.

It’s definitely a new armor set, and I want it badly now.

All these little pictures they have shown us these past few weeks (without connection to the upcoming episode) does seems to point toward something rather big coming.

Going to be interesting to see what actually happens early next year.

I like the armor. And I wonder where he’s at… maybe the mists dropped him somewhere deeper in the Wastes?

Obviously, wherever he’s been, he’s picked up a bad case of asymmetrickitis. Just look at that shoulder. Charr have bad posture anyway, and with that extra weight on one side, egad. He’s become a poster child for the TCA (Tyrian Chiropractors Association). Probably explains the blindfold, too. Someone off to his left said, ‘Hey!’ and he turned to look and, well… ouch.

Meh, we can always swap in the shoulders from a different set (or just shut them off completely)

I am not going to lie..that armor looks Fing amazing. I would buy that from the gemshop.

Seems like Rytlock turned into a Dark Ritualist. 3rd Heavy Class confirmed!

Also, we all know he went to the UW and FOW to get that armor, new Elite dungeon content confirmed!
