So with this new expansion coming who knows when (in 6 weeks it will be playable at PAX) will we have 2 weeks updates?
SAB?
Anything?

It sounds like the expansion takes up directly after the Season 2 finale, so I think its safe to say we won’t be getting any more story missions until the expansion, unless they release side-story of some sort that doesn’t actually progress the main story.

Whether we’ll at least get various side activities to fill the time or not, who knows. I suppose it depends on how long until the expansion arrives. If its 3 months, say, they could fill the time with maybe another PvP / WvW season, perhaps another feature patch (assuming the expansion itself isn’t taking the place of that).

I’m not really expecting SAB at this point, personally, though I’d certainly welcome it.

It would be a mistake to not do anything. That six weeks is just for basically a playable demo – the actual release is most likely months out, and that’s an unprecedented lull with GW2’s track record.

I don’t think another Living World update is likely before HoT, but I do really hope that SAB will return in the meantime.
I hope HoT will launch some time during this spring, as Anet usually announce their content in a nearly-completed state.

Living story would be on hiatus anyway (we just had a season finale) so I’m guessing we will not be back to episodes before the expansion is released. There may be other small content releases in the meantime.

Don’t expect anything on the edge of an expansion ^.^ It’s not really that long a time anyways. But hey, if they would swing SAB back around, that would be cooool.

Season 2 is over. And with an expansion in the works, it is highly unlikely they’ll bother with any more given the complaints with it.

Hopefully Super Adventure Box could be reopened in the meantime, and actually have ALL the vendor rewards available at the same time. And any holiday events would hopefully still be ongoing, even though I don’t think any come up in the time between now and the expansion demo.

They’ll have to do something, either introduced WvW improvements gradually or 1 new pvp map and some new skins to farm for, perhaps hardcore mode for dungeons, or something that could make the PvE harder and more rewarding.

I suspect we’ll be seeing the return of Dragon Bash again at the very least (some datamined gemstore items seem to suggest it,) maybe even SAB if we’re lucky. Probably more WvW and PvP tournaments too. It would be a bad idea for Anet to go on another monthly break right now with so many new and returning players they’re getting from the sale and the expansion announcement.

There won’t be a season 3 before expansion, because the story of the expansion takes place the day after the pact crash. There might be LS in the future after expansion, as it could be used as filler for inbetween expansions or to lead up to them, but we don’t know yet.

I think we’ll get holiday updates (Valentine’s, April Day’s, Dragon Bash) and that’s pretty much it. The features in the expansion pretty much trumped any hope we’d have for a feature pack before its launch.

WvW tournament is probably coming, though, with some small WvW updates along it.

The expansion will be paid and distributed in boxed and gemstore. That pretty much rules out any gradual release of the content within.

Now stuff not included in the expansion is another thing. I also hope we’ll get something substantial before the x-pac.

My guess is that we’ll see festival content return as filler until HoT is released. (My estimate is that it’ll be 4 – 6 months away.) That gives us time for SAB, Dragon Bash and/or the Crown Pavilion. I’d have listed the Labyrinthine Cliffs too, but the Zephyrites don’t seem to be in any position to do trading at the moment.

It looks unlikely that anything more will come from Season Two given the cliffhanger ending trailer for Heart of Thrones.

There might be some special event in the future, but we don’t know for now.

Sounds fun! Maybe we’ll get queens pavilion (gladiator games), but I’m not sure where we’re going to get the bread and circuses from.

Was hoping we could perhaps get some Rytlock Living World. Explain how he got back. But they’ll probably bundle that into the expansion.
