I know anet has talked about having a merchant for the blade shards, and I thought who better to bring back than good olé Nicolas from gw1 or at least a desendant of him. He could be that awesome npc that collects old quest items in return for awesome random present prizes. Would be a nice little tid bit in a update for everyone to enjoy and can be used again for future story items. Besides I miss prof. Yakkington.

There’s also a Horas the Traveler in SW Snowden Drifts, who sits in a tent next to an unnamed dolyak, that says he’s traveling about and will be heading into Gendarran later.

Sounds like a descendent of Nicholas to me.

And Gwen’s descendant is named Logan.

There were many collectors, some for family related reasons. It COULD be a descendant, but it could also be not. Remember his love interest died during the Searing, alongside his family and probably a chunk of his friends… hence the reason he went to wandering the globe.

You can’t say for sure it is a descendant or simply a reference to Nicolas.

Miria Malone is the descendant from Nicolas’s love interest, there isn’t anything pointing to that being true about Eda…

This is a fantastic idea! I would not be surprised if this was the plan.
