No chain events in dry top whatsoever?
I hadn’t until you pointed it out. I wouldn’t say casual, but I would say the events aren’t telling the zone’s story like other DE’s normally would. The inquest for example for are a rather random element to this zone – very out of place, mixing nonchanantly with other mobs in the area.. DE’s (and the old hearts system) would have explained this better.
The other main worry I have is that these events are designed for peak numbers to unlock the vendors. A new zone if we get one, would pull us away from this zone and deaden it a lot. Unless they develop the old style zones, which they seem keen on avoiding at all costs.
Has anyone noticed and been bothered by the fact that we have no chained events in dry top? What was the design decision for this? Because I feel as if its a big mistake. Events, especially chain events, are a very core part of guild wars 2 pve.
Endgame zones like orr have temples and other chains like the eye of zhaitan chain event which is also cool, yet dry top has none of this. This is an 80 zone yet it has a very casual feeling compared to Orr. Does anyone else notice this?
But there are event chains… For example the “race” quest vs inquest chains into going into their base and freeing prisoners, which chains into the inquest releasing golems so they can repair the door to their base.
Not to mention Dry Top doesn’t have a story the same way Orr and the higher end zones do where it’s a giant war zone or something, it’s more like Southsun, it’s a wild zone where a lot of things are happening around it, and you’re trying to help with them.
