No more large boss fights in living story?
Yes you are, there is another release coming in 2 weeks time and the trailer for this season showed a very large devourer, definitely larger than the Queen that you find in what we presently have access to of Dry Top.
Keep in mind that right now we do only have access to a tiny corner of Dry Top, a small part or a much larger map.
It’s Episode 1, be patient.
I am absolutely happy without large boss fights.
I don’t need zerking or climbing up somewhere to reach a boss.
A-Net did it right. Let the story be the main part.
Bosses don’t have to be large to count as boss.
I really enjoyed the Sylvari guy and his abilities.
This was a fun fight fitting into the story
Actually, I thought the Scarlet Prime fight was one of the highlights of Season 1. It’s an MMO, not a single player game, so it felt like the only fitting way to end a storyline would be with a large, open-world boss-fight. Like the Twisted Marionette, Tequatl, and Triple Trouble boss fights before it, it made your character feel like a real, plausible part of the world. And I hope the final battle against Mordremoth is something similar, in contrast to the now-infamous Zhaitan battle.
Of course, this is episode 1. I’m sure there’ll be more to come in the future

I agree with you on the Scarlet fight that was pretty fun. I strongly disagree with you on twisted marionette, tequatl, and triple trouble boss fights. Part of it maybe my server (yaks bend) but they only downed teq maybe once or twice most during the entire living story, never downed the 3 worms i believe, and struggled against marionette 90% of the time. Maybe its just a bad server now (shame bc it used to be great near release) If you go back and check the forums people HATED marionette b/c they would fail BC OTHER PEOPLE FAILED and we could do nothing but SIT THERE AND WATCH.
I’m not saying make all fights easy. I love a challenge, the final boss on queen’s gauntlet is an excellent example of this. So is the new TA path and high level fractals. Save the very challenging fights for solo fights that test my skill or small groups where I can do it with my friends or guild. But losing over and over every time b/c your server just doesn’t get it is miserable. It got so bad yaks bend actually QUIT TRYING both teq and the 3 worms pretty more EVERY time they popped… people wouldn’t even show up anymore except maybe once after the reset.
Anet please learn from the mistakes of your past and keep hard zerg fights out of the future content. Zergs by their very nature have made people bad players (like in marionette people didn’t even read the description, what it said under the enemies names) and so people were spamming it for a hour before the fight in mapchat (which a ton still didn’t read lol)
My only request is that for Kralk they rip off WoW’s Deathwing. :P Of course balance it for GW2 but none of that Zhaitan nonsense.
