I’ve been disappointing with the content coming from the living story. This game and its lore is amazing and the world could be used in such fun and creative ways, but adding simple go find this or kill 150 of those and the new events being the same old capture this or kill some bad guys really does not make the world feel alive. What happened to the amazing missions and story lines done in Guild Wars 1? Why not make Living story missions more like those, not just waves of mobs with different skins. All of flame and frost could have been released in one month. Unless these patches get bigger, this same temporary content will not be enough to keep the game alive. We have all of tyria at our disposal. More events like from the beta weekends, new zones, new and epic dungeons! I loved the Molten Facility dungeon. Guild Missions have been great, but give us a reason to go and explore the current world that isn’t just for Laurels. This game is so close to using its full potential it just needs a push.

What do you guys think?

I think the devs are just testing the waters with this batch of content.

The Living Story is a new concept, both for the game and the MMO world, so the devs IMO has little to no idea how the players will take it. So they test it first, and when they feel that they know what their player base wants.

This is also true for GW2’s other content.

So just relax, sit back, and enjoy what they have to offer.

Not really for the MMO world in general. Some of the Ultima Online shards I played already had world changing events based on player’s choices and successes (or defeats) but it’s one of the few (the only one actually) I can think of that had it.

“Most” of the MMO world would be more accurate. And yes, this sort of thing does come out slowly so that the changes actually take effect. Demolishing a town only to have it magically reappear an hour later is meaningless.

Demolishing a town which happens to be the only place to get x material and leaving it that way for months, or alternatively eradicating an enemy from one area semi-permanently. THAT is better. As the above said, just enjoy it as it is released.
