Not Enough Content
They never said the living world was all they had planned for the future – in fact, theyve said pretty much the opposite of that.
I do agree things feel a little slow right now and that the last few updates havent had alot of staying power, but I also remember feeling that way about the first few episodes of Season 1 – up until the Molten Facilities came in. After that, things seemed to kick into gear.
Hopefully, they are taking the same approach in season 2 – building up gradually with bigger things to come as they do.
Hopefully, we will see some other aspects of the pve game expanded soon – most notably, guild missions and dungeons. They both really need some developer lovin’ right now.
Well it becomes easier to handle when you realise that ANet will never be able to produce content faster than players can consume it.

But unfortunately have been somewhat tight lipped about what these other plans might be. Would be nice if they could tell us, just to keep the hope alive.

You’re hoping that a company that refused to reveal a single tidbit about this game during its development cycle (which spanned many years) would all-of-a-sudden perform a u-turn and suddenly start spilling their ideas and plans? A little naive, don’t you think?
Regarding the topic, there is plenty of content in Guild Wars 2. I’ve been playing since Headstart (stress test + BWE beforehand) and I have yet to get bored with the world. The game is only ever as good as you make it. So use your imagination and immerse yourself into the beautiful world the ArenaNet developers have been kind enough to give us.
The problem isn’t a lack of content, it’s the fact the content is the same the first time or 100th time, the content lacks any type of randomness!
Other than the most recent update I’ve loved the new content! Not to mention there is a new map, which is really pretty awesome when you get down to it!
My only frustration is that sometimes some of the content feels like repeat. For example, the Norn and Charr convincing for the Summit.. both story chains were nearly identical in the story aspect. Though I was shocked to see just how many enemies the Charr are actually contending with! (ghosts, flame legion and branded)
Otherwise I think they are doing great and at least its new and fresh story all the time. While, I think they do need to work on a somewhat major expansion soon, I still think we are a bit spoiled to be getting as much new content as frequently as we are. Because if you really look back at the past year, there really has not been much down time without SOMETHING going on in the game. (LS, Festivals, Feature Pack releases, etc)
So be patient, the game is gorgeous and there is more to it than is at the surface. Dig in a bit, start a new character and really follow the story. Enjoy the scenery that you so often take for granted when grinding for 80’s or Legendaries or farming or WPing or whatever you do.
There really isn’t enough new things to do. Sure this stuff is cute and fluffy but what about new dungeons? new missions? new things to do? WvW has also gone stale.
From the sounds of it (from what I’ve read), it looks like there are already people that are finished with the new content.. How long has it been out, a few hours?
…Not to mention there is a new map…
What new map might that be? I got a third area/ part opened at Dry Top, which is a relatively small zone in and by itself. As for content in that Dry Top map? Meh.
Just log in one day every two weeks. Unless you enjoy grinding for achievements and whatever the flavor of the moment backpiece happens to be. Not much else you can do.
i played it in 12 minutes after figuring out it does absolutely not matter what you click.
So i ended up at the end fight after 8 minutes.
Incredible disappointing the whole thing.
LS2 started out good and totally lost steam.
It feels like it’s made for people who can’t afford “Eye of the North”
for GW1
With that contend they should deliver a patch every 40 minutes
It would be nice to get something that isn’t a boring slice of characters standing still and talking for ten minutes while you impatiently wait for them to finish. How about more skills (don’t say it’s so they can balance what they have, it’s been months since a substanial balance patch)? More traits? Balance patches? Dungeons? WvW content? PvP content? New armour sets that aren’t immediately put behind a paywall or require absurd amounts of grinding? Please, just no more dialogue blocks about characters who steal the spotlight from the person who is actually meant to be the hero of the story, the player.
I just feel like if this were content that people were paying for monthly EVERYONE would be furious. I mean sure it’s free and the mystery was interesting for a little while but after about five minutes Dry Top got old.
I understand this living story is a ploy to keep players “active” buy not allowing them to just beat the expansion in a few weeks and stop playing. But at the same time being spoon feed episodes is just not as exciting. I really wish they would just charge $20 for a real expansion with real content.
I miss the old static scene as when people were talking you can see it. If they pause you know it is intentional. I have lot count how many times I thought the game had crashed only for another character to start talking after far too long and most importantly for my 2nd-whatever character they were skippable.
I would almost like them to remove the cash shop put the items gettable in some other achieveable way then charge for the expansions but do them better. Rather then this RNG grind cycle everything is becoming. I am looking at you geodes and unidentified fossils
