It seems that the developers made a small oversight with the new item that you can put in guild halls that gives Oakheart’s Reach when touched.

There’s a sealed-off area of guild halls that is only supposed to be accessible at level 40 after the guild purchases an upgrade, however now this area is accessible to anyone who has the mastery and 2 (maybe 3?) uses of this item.

Is this intended or a bug ?

it’s not a bug, but it’s unintended. but I doubt it really matters that much, it’s not game breaking or anything. as you said, it’s an oversight. They will probably patch it by placing those invisible walls. until then, enjoy the exploration. It’s not like you can do anything there before you unlocked it. You can just preview the terrain.

You could get to that area before anyway, whether it through creative jumping (in Gilded Hollow anyway) or use of decorations placed as platforms (eg SAB clouds).

I doubt Anet will be too concerned. The further exploration just unlocks the waypoint and easy access rather than anything of note.

My guildies and I explored that expanded area on Day 2 of getting the hall. It wasn’t that difficult to access before. Sure, the oakheart thing makes it easier (as do decorations), but it’s not a big deal, either.

Yeah, there’s very little of the GH that can’t be reached without the spidey-skills. And there’s no benefit to doing so, except to say that you’ve done so.

So, it’s a “bug” in the sense that ANet probably didn’t expect it to be used that way. But it’s not an important one.
