You can’t res NPC’s for the achievement. You have to prevent them from dying. It is a really poorly done achievement and its one that I struggled over for a very very long time. Dulfy has a video guide which tells you which order to do it in and all I can reccomend is having a very high DPS build. I’m an ele and I had to completely change my build and gameplay style just for this one achievement… It was pretty frustrating.

Er… did it yesterday and it’s super easy if you have the necessary DPS. Shouldn’t take longer than 20-30s to kill the foes. If you talked to Magister Lindsay it will start, run out the cave an go to the tower, kill the enemies there and talk to the 3 guys (one is up the watchtower). Run down to the small creek to kill the mordrem and talk to the Tengu, then up to the other cave entrance where the two other stand, they usually don’t even get attacked. Now, the only one left is the one down in the creek – he already killed his only enemy and I only had to talk to him – I immediately got the achievement. Here is a map with all the NCPs. I did it solo, the event will scale if you are more players btw…

That’s the thing though ProtoGunner. Not everyone is spec’d for DPS or enjoys playing DPS builds. I have a Celestial ele and my damage output initially wasn’t high enough to take the enemies down fast enough. I’m not used to playing with weapons other than the staff (ele’s don’t have weapon swap so it’s pretty standard to use one weapon for everything), and the staff really wasn’t going to work for these fights.

An achievement should be doable regardless of your build. The game was supposed to be designed so that people could ‘play their way’. Yeah someone with a zerker build is going to be able to do it quicker, but it shouldn’t be a requirement.

Also this mission doesn’t always work as intended. The first couple of times I did it I stayed well away from them but the two NPC’s who get attacked by the wolves were dead before I could get anywhere near them. The time I actually got the achievement the wolves were stuck in a wall…

Here’s what I did to get the achievement:

1. After you finish securing Concordia, pick your ally and then head to the markers on your map, ending up at Magister Lindsey’s cave. (You can ignore all the mobs along the way.)

2. Kill the mobs inside the cave and talk to Lindsey. It doesn’t matter if the NPCs in here die. (Don’t think they CAN die, anyway. They just go into a 0 health dazed state like Rox and Braham.)

3. Once the quest updates, exit the cave and head back south to the tower. There will be 3 NPCs here to save, 2 on the ground and 1 up in the tower. If they’re under attack by mobs, kill them all (kill the big Tendril first, since it’s poison volley does a TON of damage), then talk to the NPCs and order them to retreat. They must be out of combat for them to retreat.

If you’re lucky, sometimes the vines here bug out and don’t spawn at all. Just immediately order them to retreat if that’s the case.

TIP: Using a character with AoE condi removal might be helpful to cleanse the NPCs of the Poison/Bleeding the vines inflict, if you can’t kill the vines fast enough before they attack the NPCs.

4. Head SE to a Caravan Guard being attacked in the water by a Mordrem Thrasher. This guy is the toughest one to save since the Thrasher does a TON of damage and the stupid guard likes to follow the Thrasher around and take damage/Torment from running through the poison trails. If you’re quick enough with Step 3, you’ll arrive here while the Guard still has his Adrenaline Rush buff and rescuing him will be easy.

TIP: Stuns/Daze/Fear can be helpful in keeping the Thrasher helpless while you kill it. You ideally want to stop it from using its attack at all; immobilizing it can be a double-edged sword since the poison pools all stack up in a single location that can insta-gib the Caravan Guard.

5. Head N to find Crusader Brice. He may be under attack by vines, but his Adrenaline Rush buff lasts fairly long and he should be in no problem when you reach him.

6. Head SW to find two more Priory NPCs in front of the Grawl Cave entrance. (Note that this is NOT the same cave Lindsey was in.) These guys are usually under attack by a single Mordrem Wolf when you arrive, but between the two of them they are at no risk of dying. Help them kill the Wolf and talk to them to finish the achievement.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT go up to Goldenlight Hallow if you are trying for “On Swift Wings”. The achievement is instantly invalidated once you head to the final location. You must rescue all the NPCs before heading there.

I did this achievement on my Ranger, who’s specced for high, far-range damage and has Signet of the Hunt for a perma speed boost. She also has Healing Spring to cleanse conditions on NPCs, and has a Wolf for a decently long Fear duration to stop the Thrasher attacking while I spiked it down with Rapid Fire.

Yeah, my spec was also DPS Zerker Ranger build with Longbow, was no match, enemies go down in seconds. I understand that low DPS players have problems. It’s a problem where time is essential…

I just did it last night, worked fine once I figured it out.

A few tips.

1) Once you rescue the folks in the cave, you can ignore them. They’ll run to safety. Do not follow them, once you get to the next place you lose the event.

2) The NPCs don’t seem to spawn until you get close. Make sure you run in and kill the monsters as fast as possible, cleanse them if you can (I used traited warrior warhorn and shake it off) and it isn’t too hard.

3) One of them is hiding up in a tower!

3 is what infuriated me the first couple of attempts, until I realized I was only rescuing two people there when there should be three.
