Oh, I so hope the Orr maps will be rebuilt! Let the old Orr maps exist as instances for the personal story only. A Living Story will change the world permanently, just like Lion’s Arch and that was awesome!

I hope we get more information on Rytlock, the mists, and of course the god’s!

I also hope we keep going in a direction of being more adult in nature with the story and dialogue…no more kiddo stuff.

There is no chance (imo) the maps are going to be rebuilt. Too many things are linked to the old maps for events, collections, achievements to lock the current ones away into instances and it would be unfair to newer players.

Maybe one day, they might phase it, but I would think that highly unlikely given the lack of any meaningful gain for the work involved.

If we are getting a new Orr map next episode like is speculated, then I would expect to see the effects of any cleansing contained there so as at least to show the effect in place.

Maps are stuck in time, from core right through to LS3. It just isn’t really feasible to make an MMO a true “Living World” – it actually makes it even more messy (Timberline is a classic example, having core story + LS2 story, all stuck in time, all lumped together, all out of date and in conflict with each other).

But, yes going to Orr would hopefully tie up Rytlock (finally) and the current mystery surrounding the Gods as you say

Doesn’t it seem odd to have a story about trying to cleanse Orr, when you can clearly see Orr has been cleansed?

All the orr cleansing part is in instances. Wasnt it wierd trying to save la from the risen while it was already destroyed by scarlet? And tbh the oppener has some fair arguements s3 lacks the living story aspect.

And what exactly would we be doing in the new versions of those maps?

With no risen or wildlife to fight, what threat could possibly be around to fight? What about the temple metas, and all those events tied to collections and other achievements?

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Just because it’s already been done doesn’t really mean it was a good idea that should be repeated.

So if all you’re doing is adding a bit of greenery (I doubt wildlife would move in so fast, especially with what is effectively warfare going on, and risen killing every living being they see), why bother?

Besides, dialogue from The Sword Regrown (caladbolg quest instance) tells us that Orr’s not changed much. It’d probably take a while – more than five years – for even magically growing plants to greatly overcome Zhaitan’s corruption.
