Why can you only buy 8 per account?

I mean, there’s nothing so special about them, in regards to drops.. hmmm.. why?

Why not a daily or time-gated purchase… but why.. account based?.. its pretty final.. hmmm.. is there something special about these?.. or will there be something about them that we have yet to understand?!?

If you participate in the events to restore the shrines, they allow you to buy up to 8 more every time per event cycle.

And while they contain ‘nothing special’, they only cost one pearl and always seem to give you at least the same number (or more) back in addition to salvage materials. So it’s always worth it to buy them.
