People not showing up to Teq anymore
(INFOMERCIAL MODE)Yes, you can twiddle your thumbs… or if you’re in a NA server, join the TTS and kill tequatl several times every night..

I guess most people have indeed moved on, and those that are interested in doing organized runs at tequatl have joined guilds or groups that do exactly that.
And BTW, I’m not affiliated with the TTS guilds other than being a member of one and thanks to them having done several tequatl kills…
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
Tarnished Coast still takes him down on reset, but good luck getting enough people together after that, and we’re one of the most populated PvE servers!
Going forward, I think it’s crucial that ANet rework Tequatl so that it scales better for less people. Sure, we don’t want to get into a situation where one can solo Tequatl, or even 5-man him, but he should be doable with a group of, say, 10 – 20 people who know what to do.
I hate to say I told you so…but…
this event went the way of balthazar temple. they overtuned the encounter. it’s way too difficult and in general, people wont put forth the effort after doing it once.
After having everyone throw my ideas on how to make teq more fun, and doable with less people(20-40) in my face I hope this encounter stays the same so that everyone that enjoys it has to join a specific guild to do it and will only be able to do it when they have enough people on. Vengeful? Yes, yes I am.
Unstable Shield, Unstable Light
Join TTS, which every day downs him before and after the reset (multiple times) and has gotten so large it has had to form into four guilds and 1 oceanic guild last I checked.
The reason you don’t see us on main servers is because we prefer overflows, easier to get our people in, and thus more enjoyable teq battles.
It’s not so much that everyone stopped, so much as it is that everyone who wants to do it formed into one massive group.

…basically making it a sort of private instance, instead of a proper open world event.
Because as many people already said, as an open world event, it has been an utter failure. Since it was designed as a raid, and not as an open world event.
Is there any EU alliance or server that is still killing Tequatl too?

So if you join a specific guild, it’s basically the same as before, no challenge in the actual fight, you down him every time. And drops? Give me a break, nothing ever drops for me. So why should I bother?
Well…this is not exactly a big surprise!…Isn’t it!??!
The forum have hundreds of “Clarvoyant’s” that said this in the beginning of the event!
Tequatl is just a " private" Rave Party event now!
Yes it is still unrewarding even after patch. I killed him twice after it and got almost same reward i have from Cof run. Blue, green, rare? This is supposed to be epic reward for epic encounter? No thx Anet keep it. Your understanding of significant increase is weird.

(serious) Did you really think people would continue doing this? Maybe once a week (like my server tries), but no way are there people doing it everyday like it was before his change. It just requires too much coordination and people, even with the additional rewards. If the chance for ascended/teq weapon was something like 50%, then people might be doing it more often…
Please give us a keyring…
Yeah. I saw this coming like so many. Considering how long ahead you have to sit on your thumb if you want to organizes a Teq fight, or try to zone into the map in a high load server, (spent an hour trying to get into map with guildie last time I tried) for the laughably labeled reward?
The old Talking Celery Stalk said it best:
Moving on…
This actually makes for an excellent learning opportunity for the developers. Is an encounter that serves to empty the world in which it occurs a good way to produce a living, breathing, vibrant, living world?
They have proven that they can’t answer questions like this through reality-testing. I wonder if actual experience will bear fruit?
If your server community has moved on, then you have the extremely valid approach of joining one of the kill guilds to be able to hunt him regularly.
This isn’t the case for every server, by the way.
I think it’s for the best that people who feel the rewards are inadequate just indeed move on, and those who are interested in killing him regardless can continue to do so. The idea that the fact that it requires a lot of people and organization means it shouldn’t be an open world event strikes me as a little sad, and counterintuitive. Many people enjoyed the way it required server communities to pull together to have a chance at victory.
Some of you might be misinterpreting the event as one that should be beaten with clockwork regularity, like the Shadow Behemoth. But that’s not what he’s about. The fact that he might not be taken down on a consistent basis on your server doesn’t necessarily mean there’s something wrong with the encounter itself. And again, if your server is no longer interested in coordinating to do it, I recommend joining TTS or equivalent. They welcome all comers.
