All we wanted was a GvG.

I just noticed the LFG tool is once again full of people offering a port to the end chest of the JP.
It’s too far for a mesmer to reach but teleport to a friend get’s the job done.
You also bound it to the checkpoints in Ember bay, however in this JP they are a lot more obvious and you really can’t miss them so it would make sense.
Also while I’m at it…I heard that this episode is done by the same team as Ember Bay. Was Josh Foreman involved in this JP again?

They should remove the “obligatory” function from Ember Bay as well, unless they finally add checkpoint markers to the map. It is insane to get through these JPs without spending hours, if not days, and getting frustrated to the point of aggression.
Aww …..
I used a tp-to-friend for it yesterday and had no qualms about doing so. I HATE HATE HATE jumping puzzles. If people want to do them, fine, but if you pretty much have to do them (ie, for a mastery point) then they are fare game for a teleport.
If your argument is the chest, ok. Do not give the chest if you do not have the checkpoints but still give the MP. Those things are usually 2 blues and a green anyway.
I love jumping puzzles, but the two Fire Island ones are not designed to be fun at all. If they marked the Checkpoints on the mini map, it wouldn’t be as much of a hassle. But this way, it’s just painful. I rather spend my time doing other achievements and have actual fun than getting aggressive over a game.
No thanks. This puzzle was awful, entirely because of the oakheart tether that’s eerily similar to the skill that ruined most of the jumping puzzles on Dry Top. It’s laggy and more often than not you get obstructed by something that should never have been in your path.
I usually like jumping puzzles, but I never did those ones again, and this is even worse.
IMO the current rewards are good for people that just port, and is nice that Mesmers and friends can help people to complete MPs, Pois and Dailys. However, I think JP should give better rewards to people who actually do them: they require time and skill, and are a lot harder than most world bosses that offer better gains for merely pressing 1111.
Are they worse than “Not so Secret”?
I was lucky and met someone who had a mesmer at the end of it for the last 2 years ^^
Some JPs are just evil, and people who aren’t crazy would just ignore tham at all. Ah, did I mention the diving goggles achievement in “Not so Secret”?

Yes.

Thanks for the compliment. I wholeheartedly used to enjoy the challenge of any JP, but that was before LWS3.

That one was indeed crazy, especially since the ceiling is semi-permeable. Who had that stroke of genius?
Well I did every single JP in this game including Chalise of Tears and this one with CoT truly being the most annoying. I just love exploring maps and JP’s.
This one I enjoyed because it tackled the JP from a different perspective. It was more about exploration and pathfinding rather than simply jumping forwards.
Also when I want any other achievement I have to do it myself so I don’t see a reason why you should just be able to leech jumping puzzles. Nobody forces you to do everything. Just ignore what you don’t like.
I had a lot of fun doing the new jumping puzzle without any guide etc. But they could have added another checkpoint more towards the end as i had to do some longer parts of the JP at the end way too many times.
Chalice of Tears is actually one of my favorite JPs to be honest. But i know there are people who hate it, which i can understand it, but i like challenging JPs where you can optimise your paths.
This jumping puzzle isn’t worth getting worked up over. It’s boring and kitten-easy, with the least satisfying environments, views, mechanics, and payoff of any jumping puzzle in the game.

I don’t understand, what is the problem with mesmers or teleport to friend in Jumping Puzzles?

+1 for this.
I don’t see much wrong with people helping other players with portals, I quite like that this game has that kind of community. And if I don’t have much free time but want to quickly do my dailies then I’ll often make use of any portals around.
But on days when I’m not in a rush, I tend to actually do the JPs and not use any portals, as it is more fun and feels more rewarding, so for the times when people do put more effort and time in it would be nice to get an extra reward, even if it’s small. Also any JPs I’ve ever been to I’ve made sure to have at least completed once by actually doing them, so I can feel less guilty on a day when I use a portal xD
The only minor thing that bugs me are the amount of people going “portal?” in map chat, a) ask nicely, b) just go to the JP and you’ll see if there are people porting c) 90% of the time there’s 3+ tags on the JP, in which case do people really need to ask?

That expresses my feelings about getting help in JPs. If you’ve already done the JP once or a few times, it’s just boring to do as daily again. I like the ports, sometimes I use them to get the daily, the start the JP again the way it’s supposed to be done. When I run out of time or need a break out of frustration, I know I already got the daily and don’t need to stress myself.
Also, I don’t mind seeing people having an easy time doing stuff, it doesn’t affect my playstyle at all. That’s why I don’t see why it should be changed so that all JPs have check points. Just this morning I started the daily JP, because I do the dailies before I go to work. When I realized you need 12 check points, and after falling for the 6th time, I just stopped. I’ll take my time this evening, or do the other option for the daily. This is a case where I would have used the help of a mesmer. There was a nice one, but with check points, you can’t just skip the entire JP. If the other daily option is out of reach (daily Ruined City of Arah dungeon lol), well, then you just get no 2 gold that day.
