Precognition! Go!
Well. I’m cautiously optimistic.
I see potential, but…
I worry that they haven’t told us what comes after this very short and (imo) lacklustre season.
I fear we will have one weak (judging by the very lazy trailer) patch, and then be left waiting again for months, with little or no information.
That is what I believe will happen, but I have become very jaded as of late concerning this company.
All right, I will bite. I won’t make a long list, just one prognostication: We’ll find that glowing city/pillar area from the Pale Tree’s vision.
well… easy for me. As i saw the trailer my grin faded with the second cause i sorta expected a narration by rytlock over…dunno war scenes and pact doing pact stuff and eventually ending a second or 2 of rytlocks side profile either growing a smirk and raising a weapon or something.
I got a “yea wutevar….there have some sylvari and sylvari and sylvari…oh ya there are roots and stuff.. uuuh look here comes dragon radish and uhhh flower thingy”….mergh…
Well, in terms of actual things I expect to see, I don’t know.
Woodenpotatoes has some very interesting theories that would be cool to see come to life, that guy really does more to hype this game for me than the company that produces it.
Unfortunately everything I see in the trailer looks recycled from previous patches. Is there anything new at all in it?
Meaning, I expect recycling. I hope for a lot more, but that’s what I expect.
I feel this is the time to take a deep breath. The hype train about the possible new expansion is really half-hearted. I feel we’ll see one instance about the Crystal Desert, but no actual contact with the Crystal Desert as a map area. I’m sure that’s going to set a lot of people to rage, but I don’t see it as a possibility. Anet really seemed to have defined the mission ahead with Dry Top, then the ball dropped at Silverwastes. I love the jumping puzzle, but it was a not a map to focus any content on. It was a wonderful way to introduce WvW mechanics to the PvE community, but it didn’t compare to the size and complexity (nor story) that the Dry Top mystery-plot line allowed. It had hints of exploration and new frontiers everywhere, but we ended up back in the same old copy-paste of Tyria stuff we’ve already scene. So… more of the same. Expect one instance of some sort, hints of things we’ll never see, and a giant cliff hanger.
“Point of no return” should be renamed “No point in returning”.
