Rebuilding Destroyed Areas
Maybe?
One thing to keep in mind is that we don’t really know how long time have passed (in-game) since those things were destroyed. And right now basically all resources are focused on attacking in the Dragon rather than rebuilding stuff.

They changed the whole calendar so that it’s one for one with ours, so exactly how long since then in our world has passed in-game.
I might see LA taking a while to rebuild, but Fort Concordia is a small wooden structure. Just chop down the vines and fix the broken things. It’s not that hard.
The vines in Iron Marches? I find it hard to believe they haven’t been flamethrowered to ash by now. This is the charr we’re talking about.
Even in LA, there are still workers banging their hammers on the SAME bridge that they have been for months!
Have they ever actually confirmed that? I keep hearing people saying that, but I have never actually seen a confirmation for it.
It doesn’t really make much sense either, especially since we know that several of the releases did take much less than the two (or four) weeks they were available, not to mention the time between Season 1 and 2 and the mid-season break of S2. It is very unlikely that it was several months between the attack on the Grove and us going into the Silverwastes after all.
Another thing to keep in mind is the fact that maps could (and in most cases are) locked in time.

It was confirmed in an interview in which a staff member (probably Angel…) said that an Asuran scientist/astronomer/whatever recently discovered that everyone had been wrong and that Tyria actually has the same number of days as Earth… What a coincidence…
The time in Tyria was only adjusted so they can keep the wintersday etc. at the same time ingame and have it make sense for the Tyrian calendar.

But that doesn’t really confirm that the flow of time is the same. Especially not since we KNOW that several things didn’t take as long as real life time.

Lion’s Arch is being rebuilt, slowly but surely. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were some changes on each and every LS release.
Salma and Concordia are still dangerous places with bits of Mordremoth growing out of them so until Mordremoth is gone there will be no rebuilding. They might be free by the end of LS2 but I’m guessing Mordy will be around for longer than that.

With the large vines slowly making their way towards our base in SW, at most, I think this season will probably end with us finding out the fate of the Glint’s egg and a Marionette style battle with whatever that large flower from s2e5 was.
But ya, depending on how they go, Mordy probably won’t be wrapped up until s3 or s4.

Er, aren’t they putting dates on the journal entries now? Can’t log in right now to check, but I think everything that happens this year is supposed to correspond with 1327 AE. The first season was mostly in 1326, and the original personal story was in 1325. That’s not to say that they’re treating time realistically, though. Obviously, many regions become “trapped” in a specific moment until they can feasibly rework them, and events that normally wouldn’t take very long sometimes stretch out, presumably with the assumption that whatever you’re doing in the living story takes place over a longer period of time throughout the release than the couple of hours or so it takes to sit down and actually get through it all.
Lion’s Arch may be repaired, but the other areas will not be.
Lore aside, it’s a mechanics issue. The replayable story instances in those areas need the vines there, and given the way instances work in this game that means that they can’t remove them or repair the damage without messing up that instance.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
LA is being rebuilt, there are new bridges, some repaired or rebuilt buildings(partial), even the wildlife have returned recently.
Look around instead of just running to and from your destination as most people tend to do.

Yeah, but for some reason they are not able to fix the giant holes in the bridges that are already there.
Seriously, who directs the reconstruction?
First clear a path, build shelter, repair the mainroads, clear the rubble and rebuild.
But noooo we need a lion head themed tiki bar, instead of a functioning, non make-shift, infrastructure.
Come on LA, you are attacked so often already. Get in gear.

Remember that we tried to collect money with the Zeph festival and Queens gauntlet?
Could be that they are short in funding, they are definitely short in manpower after the attack.
Not to mention we have no idea how much time has passed since the attack. So chill…

I was mostly joking, however:
I know we collected money and most of the reconstruction and layout changes happened around that time.
However, as it was pointed out, we have no timeframe, which is an big issue in the LS (or all of GW, if you want to be cynical) in general. That makes these changes hard to rate, as we do not know if some kind of “time bubble” is in effect here.
That being said my complain is that we got entirely new structures being build, while others who can be described as essential to the infrastructure of LA are still in shambles.
They are able to build new bridges and a complete and fully designed tiki bar (i love it, don`t get me wrong), but are unable to put some planks over some gaping holes in the main roads.
This is a logistical problem, not a financial.
The only thing that comes to mind on why they concentrate on new structures, over old, established ones would be that they got a completely new layout plan for LA (understandable, if you look at the new distribution of services).
While I understand that they want to surprise us players with the redesign, I would like at least to see the blueprints, because right now all the effort feels very random and not focused, resulting in me questioning the leadership of the whole endeavor.
Otherwise my immersion is questioning some design decisions (combined with some angry screaming after i stumbled into one of these holes in the bridges, making me run around the whole complex after taking a swim)
Suggestion
Can`t we have a public vote on some suggested redesigns in-game?
I would love to see some blueprints put forth by some architects (maybe Evon wants some piece of the cake again)?
additional idea
Can we have an community contest, with redesigns? They don`t have to be implemented (maybe with a huge amount of sympathy maybe)
I too am tired of seeing LA in shambles. We are closing in on a year of LA being 98% the same as the patch after we destroyed Scarlet.
They have had a few tweaks, but it is still the exact same.
I’m not saying restore it to how it was before, but fix the kitten thing so it’s not in re-build mode constantly.
