Reforged Caladbolg - Hints for LS3?
I’m going to guess gemstore item similar to the shield, Marjory’s dagger, the staff, bow, etc.
So I was plaing around with Chatcodes for item links etc. and stumbled over codes that show a Reforged Caladbolg, which you can also preview.
That’s not the Reforged Caladbolg in the video, that’s just a Sylvari personal story.
The fact that it says Reforged Caladbolg, and it’s a level 80 exotic greatsword should be hints on it either being a story reward, or a skinned exotic greatsword from gemstore.

And where does it say that it’s a “Reforged Caladbolg”? The linked image certainly doesn’t.

I know myself that it is not in the wardrobe, I looked for it myself.
It is just an item link for now, so it doesn’t mean that the item is in the game yet.

Have you? Not once did the animated image reveal the name of the weapon.
If you knew it wasn’t in the wardrobe then why say “wardrobe skin”?

Because it says “Skin Locked” which means it is not unlocked in your account wardrobe yet.
Plus, I just noticed that in the video you sent the sword does not have the animated butterflies around the sword which might indicate that it’s an older version of Caladbolg.
Also, since it is account bound on acquire, does not come with selected stats and has the usual stats and slots of an exotic greatsword I’m guessing it is a story reward.

Reveal the chat code or a video of the preview in game. Otherwise, it looks awfully like a photoshop.

Odd that it isn’t listed in any of the databases.
Theory to that: the chat code is in since about 1-2 patches, I used the same links before and it would show frying pans or sinister pearl reavers.
Caladbolg is part of the quest. It’s highly likely they’ll put it as a gemstore skin given their track record.

It’s not odd. When you play with chatcodes, you can see things that you weren’t intended to see. But you need a little practice to interpret what you find, and knowledge of how the chat codes work and can be manipulated is a must. Like, posting a stack of 250 Reforged Caladbolgs is going to raise some red flags. Like a Banana of Penetration.
The item is there, but not currently in the game. It is an actual weapon, level 80 exotic. Unless that’s the PvP version, it’s not coming from the gem store. The wardrobe entry suggests it is something we will eventually get, but that’s not guaranteed.
As for the butterflies you don’t see, when your character runs with a weapon with sparse particle effects, they stream behind the character. Look between her and the screen bottom and you will see the butterflies.

Why does the preview say “armor: light” at the top if it’s a weapon?
Its a new gemstore greatsword skin.
Considering we got the broken one as a reward at the end of HoT, and that’s just a rare item, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they add a way for us to repair it later.
Either a Mystic Forge recipe or a collection or something. A bit like what they did with Mawdrey.
And doing it this way would give them a convenient excuse to remove the unique skills from it – it was broken and repaired so it doesn’t work quite the same way it did before.

I predict a collection based on having the skin unlocked.
Likely I can toss them too but for now I’m scraping up bank space to hold a passel of them just in case. Sariel is probably right, ANet wouldn’t require them as a physical ingredient in anything given how many people won’t have saved theirs and won’t want to have to run the story again just to get another one.
