I’m seriously wondering if Living Story Season 2 will keep the two week release cycle.

I loved the multiple storyline steps in this first release, but finished solo while waiting for friends faster than a few steps of the main storyline. It was really short!

Will releases be every two weeks like promised before?

In today’s point of interest they confirmed the next chapter will be on the 15th. Presumably that means 2 week releases going forward.

Well, in the Story Journal video, they did say some releases may be longer.

Well to be fair what they said was that some releases might be AVAILABLE longer. Which would be the same as in Season 1. Some releases were two weeks, some where a month and so on.

Well they’ve said festival releases are still going to be temporary and I suspect they’ll be up for longer than 2 weeks.

Especially Wintersday. Last time around they deliberately skipped a release so the staff could have time off over the holidays (and so players who were likely to be away would have more time with the content.)

I actually liked the 2 week-release schedule. Most complaints about it, were about the temporary nature of the releases, since 2 weeks wasn’t enough time for some people to finish it, which was a valid complaint.

Yes, that was an issue people had in season 1. Although unlike in season 1 you can still play it even when the next release comes out. So for people who are unable to keep up with everything entirely you will actually have content to play through at all times. I think that’s quite a good thing. Keeping up with the main story doesn’t take that long and you can come back to do extra things at any time.

Two weeks is still a bit fast for me (I’d prefer a 3 week or monthly release schedule), but since the story is permanent now, I can live with it.

The timing between releases doesn’t really matter anymore, imo. Since it’s permanent and instanced, I can run through it whenever I feel like it. So far, at least, everything has been soloable as well so there’s not even a concern about not being able to get a group if you wait too long. Good stuff.

So I can save them up if I just login once and do them whenever i feel like them?

Yep, that is how it works now.
