Removing JP or make them optional
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Hate them because they are boring as all kitten. And what you get for doing them isn’t remotely worth the time. Blue off a champ is a better reward ratio.
Yeah, if you’re really, really slow at them or something.
Most JP’s I’ll finish before the zergling get done killing that champion you’re getting a blue off of. =)
So what other content type would you have replace JPs? More PvE mobs to easily gib? OMG that would be so boring.
Jumping Puzzles are supposed to be challenging. If you hate JPs it is because it is above your skill level. Heaven forbid you ever played Super Mario.
JPs as of late have been a great refresher IMO. They do need better rewards for the harder JPs at least.
Let’s get one thing straight. Achievement Points are meant to be difficult or take time to get. If you aren’t willing to challenge yourself you do not deserve to get achievement points.
“ACHIEVEMENT” -1. The act of accomplishing or finishing.
2. Something accomplished successfully, especially by means of exertion, skill, practice, or perseverance.Hate them because they are boring as all kitten. And what you get for doing them isn’t remotely worth the time. Blue off a champ is a better reward ratio. And I HAVE done most of them. Doesn’t change the fact that I still despise them. Hating them doesn’t even remotely equate with them being “above the skill lvl” Assuming so, just shows you’re an kitten .
I think I missed the part where GW2 forces you to do things you hate. You hate JPs, don’t do them, who cares. I know I don’t.
If you need to do 1 mild JP to finish getting the Bazaar achievements and don’t want to because you hate JPs, then news for you: you don’t finish the meta. You aren’t forced to get the meta in order to play this game. If you want to finish it so you can get something you want, then you are forcing yourself to do something you hate, not Anet. You can just as easily look at the Quartz node and say “meh, whatever, I hate JPs, they don’t have a gun to my head”. Rather than “omg I hate JPs, but I want this Quartz node, nooooo, can’t. stop. hands. from. using. keyboard….curse you Anet, you are forcing me to do something I hate! Nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!”
And where, pray tell, did I say to remove them? Hmmmmm. I was taking issue with the elitists snobbery, it seems you share, he was displaying that if you hate JPs it must be because you suck at them. Guess no one forces you to use your brain either.
Jumping puzzles – for me the most challenging part of the game. At game’s beginning it took me about 10 hrs to do the Broken Wall. JP’s are HARD, they are a challenge to do and do well. I whined, I whinged, I got sweaty palms, ground my teeth. I hated them w a passion. Then realized it was my problem, my issue and if I wanted to take the time to figure them out, work w guildies on how to become competent at them I could learn how to do them quite well. And for Goehm’s Lab a friendly guildie gave me a port.
Get help from your Guildies. Noone to help you there? Find another guild to join that has more helpful folks. Teamwork and running w buddies makes it easier and less annoying. Or as another option – don’t bother with them. Noone puts a gun to anyone’s head in GW2 & forces anyone to do anything. It is just a game. Do what you like. Don’t do what you don’t like.
The definition of eletist seems a little harsh to throw at peeps who don’t have a big problem w JPs. Take a deep breath. IT IS JUST A GAME….
I don’t understand how its not optional as it is….Also just don’t do them? I myself seek them out and enjoy them very much.
Pretty sure OP loved Super Adventure Box <3

Seriously tough… When you say you don’t want a free lunch you mean that you don’t want a shortcut/portal to avoid all the jumping ? So what exactly would make things fair to you ?
Honestly I don’t like them, mostly because I suck at jumping… That’s the true but it haven’t kept me for doing every single one in the game. I remember how much I cursed A-net for the obsidian sanctum JP… But after I finally made it do the end it was very rewarding and it really felt like I accomplished something.
Of course I gave the devs a few nicknames after they put the two last objectives in this particular JP in the past LW… But in the overall I think that JPs are fun, especially when you are with a friend… Nothing more fun to me than seeing my buddies fall from the very end and having to start over…
And lastly… Have you tried to get a mesmer to help you ? Even the metrica province JP can be mesmerized =)
I would rather spend 20-50% more time doing something that I can actually accomplish and enjoy it.
What are you waiting for? Go! Go! :D
