Hi everyone,

I’ve been away for a quite some time now. Maybe more then a year and I thought it would be fun to jump back in and see what is going on. I logged in last night to find out that LA has indeed been rebuilt. I guess I stopped playing back before LA was actually destroyed. I did know it had been and logged in from time to time to just run around the ruins of LA for 5 minutes or so. Now I’m trying to figure out where we are in the living world line. When I go into the section of the website I don’t seem to see anything current. I’m having to brush up on how to actually play the game and It may take me a bit to remember how to figure out what it is I need to be doing. Other then LA being rebuilt is there a story line that goes along with it at the moment? My main is a lvl 80 norn warrior and I’m a little unsure what to do to get back into the swing of things. I got as far as just logging in and running around looking at the new LA last night and that’s about it. If anyone has any pointers to where I can figure out where we are and what I’ve missed and what the heck I should be doing now at max lvl I’d appreciate it!

Thanks!

The Living Story is currently on hold due to the fact that Anet is currently working on the upcoming expansion (Heart of Thorns). Unfortunately, there is currently no way to replay season 1 of the Living Story. This is due to the fact that Anet designed season 1 of the Living Story as open world temporary content. If you want information on what happened in season 1 you can read it on the guild wars 2 wiki.

Season 2 of the Living World was designed so that the content can be replayed. If you logged in during the original 2 week window when the different chapters came out, you might already have some chapters unlocked. The chapters that are locked can be purchased in the gem store. If you do not want to purchase the chapters you can still experience season 2 of the Living World by going with someone who has the content already unlocked, however you will not be able to earn the achievements for season 2.

The events of season 2 of the Living Story end right before the start of Heart of Thorns. Hope this information helps. Welcome back to Tyria.

Two new zones were introduced with parts 1 and 2 of Season 2: Dry Top and the Silverwastes. Both are zones with cycling content on timers and both offer unique and lucrative rewards.

If you don’t plan on buying the Season 2 episodes but want to check out Dry Top, save yourself a headache and bring a guide. There’s some bottlenecks that players tend to get stuck at if they don’t have access to the personal story showing them where or how to navigate.

If you feel like it, you could try to message me in-game for a tour.

In due time, all will serve the asura.

Also, Dry Top has a weather system that makes it a little difficult to see where you are going at times. When the map first came out, it was a little confusing on the direction to go during the sandstorm.

The Silverwastes is a map where you are trying to complete events in order to advance the overall progress of the meta event in the map. It is a great way to make gold.

Both maps are located to the west of Brisban Wildlands. You do not need season 2 of the Living Story in order to be able to go to them.

Am a returning players for sometime now, I actually gave up on Dry Top since my friend (guide) has quit the game for not bringing S1 back yet, I myself have missed a lot too.

I log in occasionally currently, kind of busy these days but I have spent my time leveling multiple characters to do their personal stories which is the only thing that make sense right now.

It’s kind of frustrating to understand what is going on with GW2 world right now. Cant imagine how bad it will be after release of the expansion.
