Returning old characters
I want more Lord Faren. I had such hopes for him in the beginning, and we have indeed gotten more of him in the LS than any other starter buddy.
Beyond him, I’d love to have all 5 racial starter buddies showing up. Maybe only in the PS parts of the LS, since character creation choices determine just who you have (hmmm, guess Human Street Rats would have to see Riot Alice, and she IS in Dry Top).

They also brought back my BFF Riot Alice (from the human streetrat story) for a cameo in Prosperity. She’s a crafty one, as she seems to have fled prosperity like a sane person and not been killed by vines.
I’d like to see those funny talking pact engineers (the Charr and Asura) from the PS make another appearance.

Yes! FAREN FANS UNITE! We definitely need more Lord Faren. He is the Joxer of GW2. For the young people on this forum, Joxer was a character from the tv show Xena: Warrior Princess. His personality and goals were simillar to Lord Faren’s. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if the two were related.
If at all possible, the Anet composers should create a parody of the Joxer song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gIGk9PATvs
If the composer can’t do that, then they should make a song for whenever Lord Faren shows up on the screen to save the day! This character really deserves his own soundtrack.
Lord Faren is one of the few human NPCs that I love in this game. The other human NPCs I like are the Master of Whispers, Doern Velazquez, and Demmi Beetlestone.
Having these guys back in the game would give me a reason to play my human PC more often.

Another character that should return to the storyline: Caithe.
Her Wyld hunt is to fight the dragons alongside the Sylvari PCs, and I’m itching to know what her secret is. Caithe needs to get back in the game!
I would like to see more characters from the Personal Stories, but I think what I would enjoy most is having a memorial event for characters that have passed on like our mentors and friends who died in the war against Zhaitan.
It doesn’t even need to occur in the “real” world as it could simply happen in your personal home instance. Time to have a beer with old friends and your friends from your Order. (And the best part is that it doesn’t need to be voice acted so long as there are a lot of branching scripts that are self contained for the mini episode.)
I totally forgot I had a sister.
I wonder how she’s doing. Can’t even remember her name.

i’d like to see my buddies from the order of whispers make a return. i’d also like it if the priory guys in dry top stopped asking me if Gixx sent me, when i’ve never been a member of the priory (not on my main, at least). would it hurt to pool the character’s order from the personal story, rather than from the account bound flags from the login screen?
I’d like to see my warband surviving member somehow. She suddenly disappeared. Forever.
Characters from Destiny’s edge should appear throughout the living story more often. Right now it’s as if they’re just sitting on their lazy bottoms instead of actually doing something.
“We beat Zhaitan, we’re done. Leave the other dragons to someone else.”
Are you there yet, Malyck? Or has Mordy got you??

Well, Destiny’s Edge didn’t do that much against Zhaitan, to be honest. Sure, its members are each of the races respective authority figure your player character defers to, but they only actively stick around for the first few missions. As a whole, they only came around last minute after they spent the entire span of player’s story arguing with each other and holding to their grudges and “sitting on their lazy bottoms”, to help with the last dungeon (not saying it was bad, storywise, just that there are other characters that did way more – order leaders, Pact recruits, etc. Some of them spent quite a lot of the final push on Zhaitan constantly in the fray and limelight).
That being said, I’m definitely glad they’re back to actually doing something, so kudos to Anet for that.
Also, some Tengu or Kodan characters in LS would be cool. I know there are Tengu in the Vigil, at least, so it could be excused storywise.
I wish that these characters brought back could actually remember our characters. If we have human nobles, then Lord Faren’s quest text should be different for us.

Definitely agreeing, but that’s already happening. Kasmeer’s text changes if you’re a human noble, several texts in the ending of S1 were sensible to being a charr (“It’s a charr thing”) or being the member of Durmand Priory. And it’s, at least in my humble opinion, a great way to go, because it helps to add a personal flare that culls down the feeling you’re just another random adventurer numbered one hundred and eighty billion.
Which brings me to another question to ANet/fellow players. I spent a few minutes in Blood legion quarters today and noticed two things. First was Laria Sharpeye accepting a few coming in centurions and legionnaires, informing them (in full voice!) Rytlock’s absent and having a conversation in his stead, which is a great little touch I applaud hard enough to wake the neighbors. But when I tried talking to her, I noticed she noticed my character and her sharing a profession. I’ve been to Blood tribune quarters for dozens of times, I talked to her on several occassions and my character’s always been a ranger, but I never noticed that conversation option. Is that also newly added or am I just blind, deaf and dumb?
