Ok, so if Rytlock is a revy and he can channel Glint why not just ask rytlock to talk to glint and ask her about her kids?

Because Rytlock isn’t channeling Glint. He’s channeling the legend of Glint, and echo in the Mists of Glint’s impact on the world.

While the legends do have a certain degree of sentience and agenda, they’re not the spirits of those they reflect, and may not have all the knowledge of the being they’re a reflection of (particularly things that the being in question kept a secret): the legend of Glint channeled by heralds might not know the details of Glint’s offspring or, as reflections in the Mists are not always perfect reflections, she might think she knows but what she thinks she knows might simply be wrong.
