Rytlock has no.... (PoF Spoilers)
1. Rytlock said why he wore the blindfold for so long if you listen to all of his dialogue in that first instance. He used his blindness to concentrate on the new voices in his head that had been distracting. Now that he has more control, he no longer needs to wear the blindfold and can walk about with unbound eyes.
2. The trailer for Path of Fire reveal that Rytlock will, eventually, tell us what he saw in the Mists when he went to retrieve his sword. Whether the charr higher ups heard this during his tribunal or not, I have no idea, but it will eventually out itself.
3. I think I might’ve preferred if Caithe had been the one to get sucked into the Mists. Then we could have used the memory seeds from the Pale Tree to retrace her steps and see what she had seen, all without Caithe saying a word (but her privacy horribly invaded).
Not only does he tell us he’s learned to deal with the voices along with seeing things, the devs told us early on that Revenants aren’t actually blind, they just cover their eyes to help filter the barrage of information and rely on other senses to observe the world.
I really sick of Anet shoving/shoehorning Rytlock into everything. :\ Looks like I have even more reason to not care about the story for PoF. At least Anet is consistent in that regard.
No one noticed that rytlock’s eyes changed colour? they were grey when he was a warrior, now they’re bright green.
Thats pretty curious.

That’s because he can now see the matrix code behind reality. He can’t see us. He can only see lines of vertically scrolling green text.

This is the same reason ritualists wore blindfolds in GW1. Being unable to see helped them focus on the things they couldn’t see.
It’s a common concept in fantasy – Discworld books often mention the wizards and witches having the uncanny ability to see things which are actually there. (As opposed to normal people who learn as they grow up that certain things are “not real” and therefore learn to ignore them to the point where they don’t even realise they’re doing it.)
I’m not sure if there’s supposed to be a lore connection between ritualists and revenants like there is with some professions, but even if not it makes sense that the same practice would work for both since they’re trying to achieve basically the same thing – attuning themselves to spirits from The Mists.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Rytlock has no blindfold? Wth… I thought he is totally blinded after his journey to the mists.
Why did he wear it during HoT?
He explained it upon our arrival in the desert. Maybe next time listen to the dialogue? Just a thought.
He said the blindfold had nothing to do with being blind, it was there to help him focus against all the voices in his head. Now he no longer needs it.
P.S. I, for once, never believed it meant Revenants were actually blind. I felt that it had something to do with focus, similar to the Ritualist in GW1, who was also communing and drawing their powers from the mists.

There never was much to “believe” or be surprised about since the biography in character creation outright stated why revenants used blindfolds.
I fight with my _ blindfold on to shut out the distractions of the physical world and focus my magical inner sight.
Veil Piercer (“veil piercer”) — Form follows function with this blindfold, designed both to cover a revenant’s eyes and help punch through the barriers that conceal the unseen.

“Magical inner sight” is similar terminology to what ritualists ‘used’ when looking for the spirit threads that made summoning spirits easier.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Well with that attitude let me get this off my chest, im got kitten sick of hearing aboug Kas and Majories relationship, IDGAF we’re in the middle of saving the world and they need to talk about their feelings and how they dont know if they can continue cause broken feelings.

We certainly agree on that, at least. :P
Dragon’s Watch ain’t happening from the looks of things and I’m glad for that.
Speaking of Rytlock, I bet he has a big part in why Kalla Scorchrazor is the new revenant legend. There’s a metal statue of her in the Black Citadel with a plaque explaining her backstory and demise at the hands of the Flame Legion.
Hopefully Rytlock’s arrest will tie into the Kalla Scorchrazor angle, otherwise that’ll be yet another revenant backstory plothole for us to grumble about. Yes, here’s hoping.
I could see part of the deal to let Rytlock go was him to train a squad of revenants, under the Legions’ belief that such magic could end the Foefire faster, and they chose to channel Kalla Scorchrazor since that’s a charr figure.
Rytlock himself seems to only channel Glint based on animations. Shiro, Mallyx, Ventari, and Jalis all comes from human, sylvari, and possibly norn relations and could be considered to be a “PC-only legend” in lore.
