S2 Achievements should give something more?
There have still been new skins added with each Living Story release in Season 2, they’ve just been added into the new open world content. You can get the Adventurer’s Scarf/Spectacles and materials to craft Ambrite weapons from the chests in Dry Top. The achievements actually help nudge you towards those by rewarding you with Lockpicks/Geodes to put towards getting the skins.
I imagine it won’t continue like this all the way through Season 2, mainly because the whole thing won’t be taking place in Dry Top. But while the focus is there, there’s nothing wrong with the rewards being like they are now, since there are still new skins to get.
We get AP, some extra goodies, and the satisfaction of knowing we achieved stuff. I wouldn’t mind getting something extra like a unique skin or title if we completed every single LS2 achievement by the end though. (Since the achievements are permanent, everybody has the opportunity to work towards the reward when they wish.)
Well I think the achievement rewards are not “good” for a while now. the last achievements by which I felt rewarded were the ones in the FIRST crown pavillon(I didn’t play the last few months though. So it might have been better in the final fight against scarlet). But the rewards of season 2 are even less “fun” than before. I hope they change that soon. I don’t really want more geodes, lockpicks and a few kittenty green items.
Well at least the zone achievements give a good amount of AP. still need a few to 9k(and finally the skin)
I don’t mind most of the LS achieves just giving stuff like crafting materials and geodes. After all, given how many of them there are per release, you can’t really have them all give something amazingly unique or there’d be too much.
However, I do hope they occasionally throw in an achieve which gets you something a little more interesting. Mini pets, weapon and armor skins (and back items!), that sort of thing. I’d still like to get stuff like that via LS and not just rely on RNG chests in open world. Or maybe start adding a meta-achieve to each LS achievement category, so that if you complete, say, 7/9 (or even all 9 if its a particularly nice item) you get an extra bonus item on top of the geodes and such.
These achievements are already rewarding you more than most of the ones in the game, which give nothing but the achievement points.

I think ANet doesn’t want to hide skins behind a potential pay wall (for those that don’t login / join the game). Of course then again if we look at the gem store…
Although I like the current system, feels a bit less RND is, not a lot but a bit.
