Guild Wars 2

So I’m honestly just curious.

What was the Legacy of LS1 and Scarlet Briar? Not the Story or the Areas or the Dungeons or the Changes to LA.. no not those things.

What was the REAL legacy of destruction that LS1 one caused? You know, the one Behind the curtain in the Anet office.

What Skins never got to see the light of day or were delayed?
What new events were scrapped?
New skills?
New traits?
New rewards?
New ideas?
New fixes?
New Balances?
New game modes?

I’m sure no one from Anet can honestly answer, But what about you guys. What do you think the true cost/legacy of LS1 was? and do you think Anet has learned anything from it to help avoid a second year and a half long neglect of every other aspect of the game?

I’d say it’s safe to say it cost an an expansion worth of content. Real content. New zones, races, stories. Not the temporary meta grind that LSS1 was.

However, LSS2 sounds like it’s going to be a lot better with new zones and a dragon to fight but I’m going to take a wait and see approach.

The cost? Some of ANet’s dignity and a large chunk of their reputation. Did they learn their lesson? I doubt it. They may think they’ve learned, and they may take a few steps in a better direction, but I don’t think the people in charge there see the real missteps yet.

True. I mean they’re heads are still so far up their own awful story they call her “one of the most iconic characters of Guild Wars 2” & dredged her back up in articles on her “Legacy”. I get the feeling they do things just to get back at that awful majority that called them out on that train wreck.

The issue seems to be new armor. Because of the variety in races it’s more time consuming to make armor (since you have to make one for each race, and also each gender oddly enough). So a lot of new armor was relegated to the gem store in order to justify the effort required to make them (and as we know since this is B2P there’s no monetary input other than gems). Creating back-pieces are easy since you can create basically 1 item and it’ll fit all the races.
So my guess is that a lot of armors (themed to the LW updates) got thought up but never implemented.

Indeed. That made me literally laugh out loud when I read that!
Actually, several parts of that video made me laugh too…though it kind of also left me feeling bad for Tara for agreeing to do the voice of Scarlet. Though I suppose work is work.

I don’t think whining is a strong enough description of this thread. The people here have run out of things to complain about and are now making things up to complain about.
