I was wondering if players had screenshotted the Loading Screens during Season 1, you know the ones you’re unable to capture anymore

had a quick look, started on 22 October 2012 (Shadow of the Mad King) and last part started on 4 March 2014 (Battle for Lion’s Arch)

I have a slew of them! I think I may be missing some. Also since you specifically want loading screens I skipped the cinematic bits … even though I have a great shot of nude Faren boiling in Scarlet’s pot. Sorry Bell Choir got out of order, I missed it when putting up the first Wintersday screens.

i was thinking about something similar the other day. What did the old kessex hills splash screen look like? It wasn’t the same as the one posted above, was it?
have any others been changed since release (other than LA, obviously) that i just don’t recall?

As I recall the original Kessex splash was two giant statues in some green hills. I’ve been scanning my beta and early post-launch folders, can’t find it.

Those rare ones is exactly which I’m trying to find

I’m sorry, with a little more time on hand I’ve looked through all my beta folders, stress test folders, and up through December 2012. Apparently I never thought to screenshot the loading screen even though I have a number of shots in Kessex itself.

The wiki has a number of these loading screens. Have a shift through here for them.

True, but they’re off tiny resolution (1024×512)

I’m looking for 1920×1080 WITH the black borders and white text. :/

Unfortunately that’s because that’s the default resolution from the game. The loading screen literally takes those and increase the size – losing quality in the process – and puts the boarders around it.

You might find some screenshot ones if you dig through the histories of images, though.

Got any source for this?

The images come from the gw.dat, I’ve done the same myself for GW1 (though in GW1 they were wtf huge and oddly wide, which resulted in often squished loading screens). In the dat, that’s the size they are stored.
