So I logged on to one character and viewed/read the Season 1 recaps (a good stopgap, IMO), and when it finished I got the usual mission complete splashes and then the cool little reward – a “Scarlet’s Secret Stash.”

Then I logged on to another character to get her reward too, but when I finished the cinematic, I got the “Complete” popups, but did not get the reward. The UI for the story journal shows a closed/open chest depending on the status, which would indicate there should have been a reward, right?

Is this an intentional “once per account” thing? If so, that doesn’t make a lot of sense. No other Personal/Living story reward is account based. Granted, you don’t have to do much to get this one, but the reward isn’t that big – some silver, a few sprockets, a couple greens, and a chance at a rarer item. It would be nice to be able to get a shot at those rare rune recipes for each character we have!

I had the same issue happening. I read somewhere that skipping the cinematic may be what bugs it, but I have seen no confirmation whether this is indeed the case.

The reward is not from the story step (that box is always blank and only rewards experience). It’s from a new achievement in the Hero category called “I’ve Seen Things” and gives Scarlet’s Secret Stash and 5 AP.

So yes, it’s an intentional once per account thing. Probably because it’s just watching a cinematic that they didn’t want it to be over-rewarding. Though I do wish it was a reward for the story step and not the achievement.

I’m not sure about that. On the hero panel / story tab, the chest is grey on those characters that have not done the recap yet, which usually indicates the reward has not been awarded yet. And generally non-collection achievements give no chest awards.

I wish that the gift from scarlet was account bound since you can only get it on one character.

@Broom: Open your achievement panel, go to the Hero category, scroll down until you find Things I’ve Seen, click. It outright shows the Scarlet’s Secret Stash as a reward for completing it.

The chest is closed because it hasn’t been completed – it’s a function of the chapter structure of Season 2’s story journal more than anything else. But that story journal chest is effectively empty.

And “generally non-collection achievements give no chest awards”? EVERY story journal achievement gives an item reward; most Season 1 achievements gave such; every daily achievement gives such; and that’s not counting others.

It would be more accurate to state ‘achievements from release generally don’t give item rewards’.

Can you only speak to that NPC if you haven’t done season one? I wasn’t able to figure out how to speak to her. Someone said in chat I needed to activate a story line, but I couldn’t find that on my hero panel. I never got a mail from Ela Makkay, if that’s needed,

You need to be 80. Look at your PS tab on your Hero Panel, you should see “Scarlet’s War” as one of the story sections. That’s the one to activate.

I am completely lacking the “History’s Lesson” mail from Ela (to my knowledge, I’ve never received it) and I do not have “Scarlet’s War” in my Story Journal.

Anyone have any advice or recommendations on how I can get that 5 AP?

You must be level 80 to get it. I don’t know if that’s any help .

I didn’t get the mail till I activated the story first. I missed seeing the story the first time I looked. On my panel its first the Personal story, then Scarlet’s War, then living world Season Two.
