After season 1 ended, players who missed the fun could buy season 1 items at the laurel vendor. They still can. Now season 2 has ended I wonder if / when season 2 items will become for sale at the Laurel vendor.

I doubt they will be added there, seeing as Season 2 is permanent content.
The reason for them to be added for season 1 was Chinese release I believe, seeing as they got the game after Season 1 was already over.

What items should that be? I’d like to know that.

I don’t think that it will treated equally, because S2 is permanent, so there’s no need to wrap something up for laurels if there’s another way to get it.

Aren’t they available from Silverwastes/Dry Top vendors or via achievements already though?

None of them have vanished.

I suppose it might be a case of trying to bypass the gem-cost for missed episodes or something like that.

Which is yet another reason as to why they will not get added to the Laurel vendor.

The season 1 items existed because they were no longer in game and obtainable. ANet decided to add what is a rather fair system to obtain these items for those who missed season 1, using Laurels.

The season 2 items are all still obtainable.;

From memory;

- all ascended trinkets, for Nomad and Sinister stats, carapace armour and luminescent armour are from achievements. These are the only Season 2 story specific items. Using laurels would invalidate the challenges involved.
- Mawdrey backpiece is a treasure hunt/crafting activity
- Fossilised Weapons are obtained by gaming in Dry Top and using tokens/exhanges
- Sinister insignias are via crests in Silverwastes
- Tonics and minis from crests in Silverwastes or rare bosses in Dry Top
- new Eternal Sands focus skin and Sinister Blowtorch. Both from Silverwastes

Basically there is no reason to invalidate the zones by adding them in as laurel exchanges. There are legitimate and reasonable ways to obtain all items outside of festivals that have been released since Season 2 began.

There are however items from Season 1 missing. I think they should be added to the vendor.

Is there a way to acquire the carapace leggings other than completing the story? I missed all of season 2 but have been playing in silverwastes and I now have every piece of armor except for the leggings. I have looked it up on wiki and they say it can be bought from the merchants for bandit crests but I checked all of the merchants and none of them have it. They all have shoulder, glove, boot and headgear. I have two coat boxes from killing the mordrem vinewrath, is there no way for me to get pants to go with them?

Nope, only from the story. Once you get the first one, the merchant will start selling it. So you can buy it with Crests, or redo the story on another character.

Edit: Remember you only need to unlock the right episode for it, which is Seeds of Truth I believe. 200 gems currently is roughly around 25g, which shouldn’t be a problem if you’ve been doing SW.

None of the non-festival gated stuff should be added to the laurel vendor (eg mawdrey). That stuff is permanently attainable.

Is fair. (it came with the empyrean fragment eating item). These festival reawards probably should be added (and they can stop droping broken xmas ornaments in jumping puzzles finally). But what else is remaining? Favors of the Bazaar/Pavilian? Super Adventure box backpieces? Was there a Halloween mini meta reward?

Item acquisition mean from season 1 are long gone while the second season item may be acquired whenever you want just by doing the content.

That’s why you got season 1 item on laurel vendor and you won’t ever see season 2 item on the laurel vendor. It’s just that you got permanent mean to obtain these one.

Season 1 reward are there be cause you can’t get them anymore the regular way. Season 2 rewards will be available the regular (—> achievement) way, so it makes no sense to sell them just via laurel vendor.

Just checked. The only thing that should be added from season 2 to the laurel vendor is:

Orphan’s Generous Gift

That item unlocks the collection that is still completeable and rewards Star of Gratitude and Gift of Magnamity (Wintersday tree I. Your home when consumed). The Star is critical for consuming excess fragments and very body should have access to it.

^ Why put it there when it is very likely it will come back this Wintersday?

Yeah, there exists season 1 stuff that never returned. Tequatl’s wings, scarlets helm and the Super Adventure Backpieces for example.

The toxic spore backpiece is on the TP right now. Ditto for the desert Rose and the giant hobo sack as well as the Wind/sun/lightning catcher.

The season 2 Wintersday item should go to the laurel vendor so we can get a new reward in season 3… Lol.

SAB stuff should be confined to SAB when it returns. The wind catcher etc stuff is helmets, but yes they are there along with the toxic spore backpack which I indeed what I was thinking of.
