Season 3 Episode 6 Release Date?
Somewhere between first week of July and first week of August, given the 2-3 month release schedule.
Nobody knows, but it is save to assume that it will be early August the latest (hopefully earlier, in July), seeing as the previous episodes were released within that time frame.
On the wishful thinking side, it could come even sooner. It’s a different team, so possibly the delay we had on Five would not have pushed back Six. (Not that it was a true delay, it was still released in the originally planned cadence window, just at the tail end rather than the start).
However, I lean to early July for it unless it’s another very special episode they want to get right, certainly possible given it’s the lead-in to the expansion story.
July 18th at 9:15:34AM pacific time.
July 18th at 9:15:34AM pacific time.
Ok, that got an actual out loud chuckle from me and a lifting of my spirits.
Now if you turn out to be right we shall have to beg for further prognostications from you.

Yeah. That would be something if it turned out to be correct.
Since it’s 2 – 3 months for each release and the last one came out on May 2nd my guess would be anywhere between July 2 at the earliest and August 2nd at the absolute latest. Heck, I could be wrong.
we literally have no smaller window than “this summer”
and then the expansion will be announced. while episodes generally take 2-3 months, I expect the expansion to take 3-5 months
Difficult to call, the first 3 where every two months, and the last 2 have been every three months.
Given that Episode 5 was released on 2nd May, then it SHOULD be 2nd July for a 2 month release window or 2nd August for a 3 month release window.
All anyone can do is speculate at this time, and that’s the best I can speculate based on previous releases.
When It’s Ready™
we never know when it’s gonna hit until the trailer hits, then it’s one week later. sometime this summer
PvP Season 7 starts 6/13. It should last roughly 6 weeks. We should see LS Ep 6 after it completes. We could potentially see it 8/1. However, my guess is 8/8.
It doesn’t work in this way. ‘PvP’ and ‘3rd LS3’ teams work in another mode. These teams are separated.
Personally I think it’s gonna be in the 1st/2nd Tuesday of July. Or eventually on July 25 (year after beginning of LS3).

Episode 2 released during a PvP season.
Yes, Ep2 released during a pvp season (season 4 to be specific). However, since then each episode has come between the seasons. For Ep 4 and Ep 5 it came directly after the season ended, and Ep 1 and 3 came right smack in the middle between two seasons. Ep2 seems to be a bit of an oddball.
Every season is 55 days long (yes, I verified), which ends PvP S7 on 8/7/17. This puts us right in the time frame to expect the next episode. If nothing else, it seems the pattern is to expect the LW Episode to release between the pvp seasons. I’m still holding to my original theory of 8/8.

That’s just a coincidence with the timing of the episode being ready. They’re not going to hold back an episode for weeks simply because there’s a PvP season going on.

Agreed, if it’s ready, I’m sure they’d release it. That said, if its not ready, I’d also fully expect them to hold it back.
However, intentionally timing a release cadence in such a manner allows for it feel like they are consistently pushing out things for players to do. As one ‘thing’ ends, another gets pushed out to keep people busy and happy. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if there were doing such a thing. We’ve already seen them do exactly this previously with LW and assorted festivals.

If something isn’t ready wouldn’t they hold it back regardless as to whether there was a PvP season going on.
As far as festivals, HoT and Halloween were released at the same time. All the other festivals (however few there are) have roughly a fixed schedule on when they become available and when they end. The episodes have roughly released every two months. With how spread out each festival is, it’s entirely possible for each episode to be released between festivals simply because that’s when they’re ready.
I believe it was also stated by someone from Anet that the living story episodes are on their own release schedule which is separate from everything else.

you do know that the pvp and pve agendas collide like.. not at all?
I mean.. zero collision..
When PvP seasons start and end have zero bearing on when PvE updates occur
7/25 , it’s almost certain with the end of the league
6 weeks for this pvp season, not 8 as usual

They don’t typically no. Different teams and all. However, my guess was merely based upon the entirely coincidental pattern I had noted.

Which is what I said.

I am solidly aware of when festivals typically fall. Ive only been here since forever.
There was 54 days between Ep1 and Ep2.
62 days between Ep 2 and Ep3.
78 days between 3 and 4.
82 days between 4 and 5.
This merely verifies that they are staying within their 2-3 month projected cadence. We could do all sort of projections on where we think Ep 6 could fall based on any of those numbers, the average, etc. In truth, a full 90 days from Ep 5 puts us all the way out at 9/5, so guessing an early Aug date puts us right around 60 days.
All of this aside, it was just a guess based on a logical pattern, regardless of coincidence. You guys don’t need to rip my head off cause I offered up a prediction.

This is entirely possible. I don’t recall it, but I wouldn’t discount it either. I know they are on a 2-3 month cadence, that is enough to determine a ballpark idea of when to expect it. From there, its a matter of looking at what’s being said and what else is happening to maybe get a better feel for when it might fall. Coincidence or not.
If we don’t have a thread from Mo mid to late July saying the next Ep is going through its finishing touches, I’ll likely revise my prediction.

Episode 5 released May 2nd so 90 days would be around the beginning of August.
I’m simply disagreeing with what you said and the intention was never to “rip your head off”. I’m sorry if it came off that way.
There are various theories on what could happen and what could not. From what I have seen, I believe that it doesn’t matter if there is a PvP season. From your side, you see otherwise. Either of us could be correct.

Ha, you are correct. I stuck the wrong date in my Excel calculation. Thank you for correcting me. Been a long day apparently, I can’t even math lol.
Yes, any of us could be. I fully expect we’ll see quite a few predictions thrown out over the next month or so. Regardless of when it actually falls, I’ll just be happy when we get it.
Based on their release cycles, my guess is they will first drop in a “current events” patch and the final episode will be late July/early Aug.
As with everyone else, mid/late July – early August is a decent projection. The timing on Flashpoint is off though as they had to push it back a bit.
Personally though, with all the hype they built around Flashpoint, with all the questions left and the expansion to follow, I’d be perfectly fine if they pushed it back to late August just to make sure they get it right. What happens in Ep. 6 could influence people to get the next expansion so they’ll want to set this as a benchmark for what’s to come.
Flashpoint wasn’t actually pushed back from the stated schedule. It was pretty much to the week 3 months from Head of the Snake. (Had they waited another week it would have been 3 months and 1 day)
They’ve stated “2-3 months” between episodes. The last tuesday within three months from Flashpoint is August 1; the first tuesday past two months is July 4 (not terribly likely).
They’ve stated “2-3 months” between episodes.
Internally however, they have 3 teams working on 6 month schedules. Although they said 2-3 months, when one team goes over 2, all teams are affected. Episode 6 should actually be finished by now, assuming they’re on schedule, but they’d also likely want to put more work into it since it’s the finale. Following 2 months after episode 5 would already give them an extra month, so any further delays would simply be to space it out with the expansion, like wanting to hold out for Gamescom near the end of August for example.
While they have three teams, I have to imagine there are parts that are only done one episode at a time; finishing touches, QA etc. It would be strange to split everything into the three teams. If for instance team 2 is slow and team 3 fast and you then get ep 5 and 6 ready at the same time. Holding a completely finished episode back for a release schedule would be a waste of resources, but releasing them too tight in relation to the rest of the season creates its own upsets.
And all that doesn’t actually matter in judging if an episode is delayed or not. What matter is stated release cadence. MO let us know that ep5 would be on the later end of it, rather than early (as the first few episodes were) or middle. It stayed inside the 2-3 month window, and thus its release was not delayed. It might have been finished later than expected internally, but the release schedule had room for that.

I would put money on this. Maybe not time of day but definitely date.

Well, I am putting unbound magic on it. After the beginning of July I will start hoarding it so that I will have at least 11,000 on release day (10 for the new node and 1 for the portal scroll).
