Spoiler reminders again. Did anyone else stick around for the hologram dialogue after Taimi breaks down the door to scarlet’s apartment? That was an interesting and, after a certain point, freaky look into Scarlet’s experiments. It was after Scarlet started talking about having gone through Omadd’s experiment, there was what sounded like…another voice. The crazy tree was talking with two voices! That had to be one of the most chilling bits of audio I ran across so far. Was it just audio distortion or…something else?
EDIT: and of course I can’t just replay that mission, I have to replay the entire kitten episode…
Well, based on this info, I did go and redo the entire episode as was suggested above. Got some of the achievements as I went, so not too much of a loss. Anyway, I found that you can indeed interact with the holodevice once the mission is ended and its interesting stuff, voiced too. As an owner of the journal, it would be nice if this dialogue could be added to that, as a permanent record, especially as it is voiced.

Ceara/Scarlet has been voiced by Tara Strong, there has never been another voice actor.
It is the same voice actress, but she even said how she changed her voice for “teen” Scarlet and mad Scarlet.
There always wiggle room for the steam creatures due to the Infinity Ball using dimension and time travel. Ceara being the seed of our dimension and timeline’s steam creatures doesn’t contradict the Infinity Ball outcome.

Ah yes that is true, she means she changed her voice acting, the way she uses her voice. But it is still the same voice. Just listen to some of the other voices Tara Strong has done (Like Twilight Sparkle) you would hardly recognise it as the same voice actor

Since we never heard Scarlet talk in that distorted voice even through holograms, i can only assume that there was something different about her immedietly after the experiment that she resolved. Or maybe that holo-recorder was more susceptible to have its recording distorted by whatever change Ceara went through, something that Scarlet easily worked around with later devices.

Yep! I stayed and I noticed the two voices as well. I’m banking on the fact that Ceara and Scarlet Briar were two different entities. I kept a copy of her diary from the Origins of Madness update, and Ceara wrote that she was possessed by the voices of the forest.
There is really good chance that we’re dealing with demon possession. Actually we should call this “dragon champion possession”. Let’s assume for the moment that this is true. That means Ceara is dead but Scarlet is still alive. It also makes Scarlet Briar the champion of Mordremoth, and her real body probably doesn’t look like a Sylvari at all.
BTW, don’t forget that Angel McCoy (one of the Anet writers) is a horror / science fiction author. Something like this would be up her alley.
EDIT: I forgot to add this: During the Battle of LA update, Scarlet did mention that “Tyria will bow to a new master”. At first, I thought Anet had retcon the lore because those words are not consistent with Ceara’s personality. The real Ceara was too independent and selfish to willingly serve anyone. When I found out about Angel’s writing background, I realized that Anet used the final battle to imply that Ceara and Scarlet were two individuals in one body (aka demon possession).
Wasn’t it stated by some devs in the forums that she did indeed have 2 diff voices and it was important to the story that she had 2 diff voices? I believe it was a comment regarding someone that found some voice dialogue that was leaked online for Scarlet and commented on how the voice was different.
Was anyone else bothered by Ceara apparently being behind Steam Creatures? I thought they were invented by the alternate Infinity Ball creator.
Please tell me she just made her own Steam Creatures based on the original design because that… no. Just no.

You are presumably right since there was a a short written biography on the gw2 website, stating that she took lessons in all kinds of proffesions, the asura, the charr, others but forgot who again. She got guidance from these races and perfected her art in this woowoo stuff lol.
