What do you think? I personally would really enjoy seeing the other main cities of the game getting an overhaul just like lion’s arch.

I really miss the old Lions Arch, it had charm. The new one feels artificial and unpersonal. I really hoped that it was to be resurrected more like the old version but I guess they had a reason for doing it this way. Black Citadel is probably my least favorite city so for all I care they could wipe the slate there and rebuild.

So it’s totally possible!

I hope they don’t do massive overhauls to the other cities. I really like the new Lion’s Arch, and I really loved the Escape from / Battle for Lion’s Arch episodes…but I also liked the old LA, too, and the city was a dump for over a year while we waited for it to be rebuilt.

If they’re going to develop something on that large a scale, I would rather it be something really new, instead of burning down something that’s already good and replacing it. (Besides, I think that would lose a lot of impact the second time around.)

I would like to see some events take place in other cities. Divinity’s Reach has gotten some extra love between the Crown Pavilion and Wintersday, for example. The capitals are such great—but empty—maps that I would love more reasons to visit them.

I really hope not. It would mean making more repeat maps of the original city layouts to facilitate the personal story, which overall would make it a bit bothersome in the resource department.

And I’d like to not wade through the wreckage of a city for 1.5 years again.

But that doesn’t mean the cities can’t get attacked! Remember how the Grove was attacked in S2? They could all, over time, get the Grove treatment!

Only updates I’d like to the cities would be on par to Crown Pavilion addition or better yet just adding (but not removing) some of the ambient dialogue and NPCs.

Wont be until 2020, when the Water Dragon, Bubbles will awake!

The DSD has been awake for 200 years, and influencing Tyria (indirectly) for 50.

It’s just very far away from Tyria.

Though that concept art from HoT may indicate that it’s getting closer… and closer.. and closer… AND OH MY GOD IT’S RIGHT BEHIND YOU!

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I was anticipating a dragon attack in the chasm where the Crown Pavilion is right now in Divinity’s Reach. Actually, not just DR, but also in other cities as well.

  • Black Citadel will be a huge magic cannon, sort of like the Death Star in Star Wars.
  • We will fight a dragon in the middle of Hoelbrak (that empty space in the middle of the city is begging for a dragon rampage). The question on how to break Jormag’s tooth is the answer to killing dragons. Break the tooth, you’ve found an effective way to kill a dragon. My theory is since dragons are made of magic, something that destroys magic would be effective against them as well. But how can you destroy magic, it’s like destroying reality itself?
  • Rata Sum will transform into a gigantic golem, a golem as big as a city. That was what the Arcane Council’s secret project all along. Their greatest weapon against the dragons, Rata Sum the ultimate golem.

i dont really get these overhaul and truthfully find them a huge waste of ressources.

i liked the old Lions arch much more than the new one so all the work that went into the overhaul is wasted on me.

why can they not just simply create a new city somewhere if they want to design something, like a 2nd groove which has been hinted at in the sylvari personal story

Old LA was better in my book this new one doesn’t even feel like a city and it looks more Luxon than anything else.

Original LA had an identity and many more nooks and crannies to explore and I’m my book the whole destruction and rebuilding phase did more harm than good as that destroyed state of LA really made the game feel dead and gloomy and I know many people who left during that time.

" The question on how to break Jormag’s tooth is the answer to killing dragons."

Martial arts. I think a new fighting game mode based off Virtua Fighter 5’s engine, mechanics, and balance should be introduced along with Cantha. They visit Cantha because the Pact needs to learn martial arts in order to defeat that expansion’s dragon. Masteries give various martial arts abilities in the open world that can be added as utility slots or autoattack augments. Guild Wars 2: Journey to Cantha or Guild Wars 2: Karate Masters have good rings to them. Zojja would be featured heavily because she would know the land quite well and is already a black belt herself.

I’ll always stick to the opinion that its better to add new things than take things away from players.

Destroy and rebuild them? No. Add onto the current cities and change things around in the future, like the fall leaves for The Grove? Sure, go for it. I would love to see new stuff added in the other towns, and in the case of Black Citadel, see their current architecture possibly updated a little.
